8/21 – Nicholas and I spent some time in the backyard today. He went in his playouse and down his slide which he normally didn’t . He was helping me clean up and noticed his red car with the yellow roof on it. he sat in it  and i pushed him around the yard. Then i stopped and we exchanged about 10 mintutes of pure eye contact and funny faces. He played with the hose for a little bit (he loves water) and then asked me ” Barn, Daddy?” At first i couldnt understand him but after the second time he said it he also pointed to my shed in the backyard. We went inside and he pointed out some of my remote control boats. Then something amazing happened. He noticed my sailboat which was given to me by my grandfather( he died when nicholas was 1 year old). He said “sailboat” and i said ” Yes, that was Great Grandpa’s boat” and He said ” Great Pop Pop?”. I never asked him to say those things nor did he ever say them before. It was truly a wonderful day.
