His language continues to grow in leaps and bounds. He still has some trouble with certain sounds, but from what I understand, the cluster of sounds he is having trouble with is not un-common and pretty much typical for all kids as their language is developing. As described by his teachers and speech therapist, his vocabulary is “tremendous”. They have found that there is nothing that he cannot correctly label - and they’ve tried to trip him up apparently. The things he says continue to amaze us all.

Nicholas has continued going to karate twice a week and is loving it. He quickly and easily integrated to be a part of the class, gets along with everyone, has friends there - and really looks forward to going. We don’t have any issue getting him to wear the uniform. When he comes out of the classroom, he’s excited and energized and just has the biggest smile on his face. He loves showing us what he’s learned when we get home.

He is doing so well in school!!! He’s reading lots of words, is writing letters and numbers and has actually started drawing pictures. Real pictures - from his imagination! About a month or so ago, he came home with two pictures - similar, but not the same. They are pictures of buildings. Each one has several floors with windows on each floor. In one picture, there is a student and a teacher in each window. In the other, just students. It is raining in both pictures. I recently had a parent teacher conference where I was able to ask if this came from a story they did in class and they had no idea where those pictures came from. They were blown away by them. Last week, he brought home a picture that he had drawn of several people. He actually drew body shapes - not just lines for the body and legs.

His coloring skills have improved greatly. For the most part, he is coloring in the lines and is using appropriate colors. No random scribbling. He also told a fellow student that she needed to color between the lines.

I was able to see part of an assembly they did for Presidents day where each child had a line to recite. I had no idea about this until I saw it on the teacher’s computer during our conference. Nicholas said his line - standing in line with the other kids - it was amazing to see!!

He’s doing really well socializing and chatting with the other kids in class and during snack and lunch. He comes home and tells me what he did in school and if any of his friends got punished and what they did that got them in trouble.

He goes to assemblies in school and doesn’t have to be held onto like he used to be. Now, he goes and watches the presentations and actually enjoys himself.

Nicholas is doing so well on the computer that we had to buy him his own laptop - a real one, not a kiddie one. He’s learned so much from different learning sites like starfall.com and a whole bunch of others, that it seemed like a logical Christmas gift - after all, how many more toys does he need? It ended up being a great idea - his skills have blossomed and many seemed shocked at how much he can do by himself on it.

He loves going to the library at school and getting a new book to read. He loves show and tell too.

We can now take Nicholas pretty much anywhere and he behaves better than the NT kids. A couple of weekends ago, we went out for dinner - the first time in a long time (we’ve been cooking alot since having our kitchen redone). When we first walked in, the restaurant was SO loud that it hurt my ears - Nicholas covered his ears for a second, said it was loud - we agreed. Here’s where I thought we were goners… but nope, he sat at the table and was a perfectly behaved kid the entire meal. We brought along his nintendo ds and he played a couple of games, but was also interacting with us as well. He didn’t just sit there with his head down the whole time. When our meals came out, he ate with us like the perfect little gentleman. (There was a table right next to us with kids on one end, adults on the other. The kids were loud and roudy as can be (with not one word from their parents) - all while Nicholas behaved. On the way home, Daddy, Grandpa and Grandma stopped at Dairy Queen to pick up some ice cream. Usually, Daddy and Grandpa will go get the ice cream and Nicholas hangs out in the car - not this time. He wanted to go with them and order ice cream. He gets up to the window and the girl asks him what he wants and he says, “I want a white one please” then added that he wanted vanilla. She asked him if he wanted sprinkles to which he said yes and then chose rainbow sprinkles. (He does not like eating sprinkles, but loves looking at them) I was so sorry I missed this, but just hearing about it blew me away. (Yes, he can now have casein without any reaction. No enzymes either.)

He understood who Santa Claus is and was so excited about him coming from early November. He made a list for Santa and marked days off the calendar mid-November until Christmas. He understood what valentines day was and was excited to give his classmates valentines. He’s now looking forwad to Easter so he can find and color easter eggs.

He recently realized just how many DVDs are in his collection. They’ve always been in his armoire, but he suddenly noticed all of them. He had to take them all out, check each one out and is watching one at a time. He’ll either tell me, “I really like this, are there any more like this?” or “I don’t like this, can I watch this instead?”

He seems to want to do really physical boy things lately. Last weekend, he tried to flip his grandfather over the back of the couch. He quickly realized that he wasn’t gonna budge grandpa. He leaned up against the back of the couch and went and got a chair. None of us knew what he was doing, but didn’t stop him. He positioned the chair in front of grandpa - then he lifted one of his legs up and put it on the chair (throwing off his center of balance) and then lifted the other leg to help hoist him up and over the couch. NO one showed him how to do this.

He loves to race from one end of the house to the other. He will not leave his competitor behind and always takes turns when it comes to who wins. He wants to hang finish lines up across the doorway between rooms.

He asks to go places and to do things. He thanks us for taking him places and for buying him things.

More of his sense of humor comes through every day. If one of us says one thing, he jumps into the conversation to deliberately disagree with us and then runs away laughing.

He wants friends to come over and play - all the time.

He asks to see people he has not seen in a while - even if they’re never mentioned in front of him. So, he’s remembering people on his own and wants to see them!

He wants to help do everything - especially cooking. I cannot believe how well he can crack an egg!

He asks for specific things he wants.

I can count the number of tantrums he has in the past 12 months on one hand - and those were provoked to see how he would handle himself. Just this difference in him is astounding.

He’s very into arts and crafts, drawing and painting, making stuff out of play-dough (not just squeezing it and rolling it) - and is very into reading books and trying to read by himself.

He is very eager for spring to arrive - he wants to plant flowers and food. And yet, he loves to go outside and help shovel the snow. He made his first snowman recently - and was just thrilled he helped put him together. He ran to the window to check on him several times and thought we should bring him inside for the night.

He went sledding yesterday for the first time - and he had the time of his life - we never heard him laugh like that - ever! We could never take him before, he just never “got it” and he would never sit in the tube. He has been begging to go sledding again all day.

On things that we’ve done for him or are trying to do for him - we now get told, “I want to do it by myself”

One thing I thought we would never be able to do with him that truly broke my heart was to be able to see him enjoy Disney World. After getting off the phone with Disney reservations the other day, I cried. Not many people would understand why. Not many would truly understand the accomplishment that this is - none of us ever thought we’d be here. Nicholas is bubbling over with excitement and wants to get on the plane to see Mickey every day. (and he also wants to bring all of his friends.)

I almost forgot a few of the biggies…. we’re getting WHY questions and HOW questions. And now he’s very interested in science things like how does water become ice? And he wants to know if things are real and how we know if they’re real?

I don’t remember if I ever made reference to this on here, but a couple of months ago - Nicholas showed Grandma a picture of daddy, grandpa and great grandpa. Nicholas was 9 months old when great grandpa died. He said, there’s daddy and grandpa and great-grandpa, he’s in heaven and has to come back to earth. (We never TOLD him great grandpa died, he was too young, we didn’t have to.)

We just got back from Toys R Us. He’s downstairs happily playing a new game. He asked me earlier today if he could go buy a particular game for our Nintendo Wii. This was our conversation verbatim….
Nicholas: “Mommy, I really like the Dora Saves the Snow Princess game, can I go buy the Dora & The Crystal Kingdom Game?”
Mommy: “I think so, we need to get dressed first though”
Nicholas: “Ok, you go take a shower and I’ll get my clothes.”
Mommy: “Ok. Do you want to watch a DVD while I get ready?”
Nicholas: “Yes, can put Little Einsteins on for me?”
Mommy: “Yes”
Nicholas: “Thank you, Mommy”

Woah - I’m so used to conversations like this anymore that it doesn’t blow me away until I write it down.

So, I get dressed and I’m downstairs waiting for him…

Mommy: “Nicholas, Mommy’s ready to go - do you want to go or watch your DVD?”
Nicholas: “I’m coming…” as he runs down the hall
Nicholas: “Is there still snow? Should I wear my boots? Mommy, where are my boots?”
Mommy: “Yes, the snow is still there. Do you want to wear your boots or sneakers?”
Nicholas: “Boots” he grabs them, ‘Mommy, can you help me put these on, I have trouble with them?”
Mommy: “Sure, Nicholas”
Nicholas: “thank you Mommy. Can you get my jacket off the hook? I can’t reach it.”
Mommy: “Here it is.”
Nicholas: “can you help me get it on?”
Mommy: “Sure.” I helped him get his coat on. “Wait for me, I need to put mine on.”
Nicholas: “Do you need me to help you with your coat?”
Mommy: “No, thank you, I’ve got it - ready to go?”
Nicholas: “Hooray!”

So, we’re on our way to Toys R Us. Nicholas comments about the snow, the huge puddles we’re driving through. He says, “Mommy, the snow is melting, that’s why there are so many big puddles, right?”

We walk through the parking lot and go into Toys R Us with Nicholas standing BESIDE me. No shopping cart. No death hand-holding grip. He’s commenting on the people shopping and going into the other stores to buy different stuff, but not toys.

We go into the store and he asks if he can look at the trains. So, I said sure - we headed over to the Thomas stuff and he hands me something and says, “Can I buy this?” I told him we were there for a Wii game (or two) and we’d see. In less than 5 minutes he was done looking at the train stuff and we walked over to the games. We found Dora (locked up behind glass) and I said we have to go find someone to get it for us. So we went looking for an associate - and I asked them to open the case for us. We follow him back there and he asks which game. Nicholas says (and points) to Dora and the Crystal Cave - and says, “wow, look Mommy - can I get Toy Story too?”

We go to the register, he hands the games (yes games, I am a pushover) to the associate and says, “I’d like to pay for these please” and then hands him his TRU gift card he got for Christmas. After mommy paid the rest of the balance, we left with no incident.

This is what shopping is like with Nicholas now. There is no more screaming, tantruming, demanding child that there once was. There is no child that has to have EVERYTHING that he sees. I gave him a choice - the Thomas thing he picked out or the games. He picked the games - and said, “maybe I’ll get that another day” referring to the Thomas thing.

If we do a really great job on new vaccines, healthcare, reproductive health services, we could lower that (the population) by perhaps 10 or 15 percent.

I’ve been asked many times over the last few weeks to share my opinion on the verdict of the U.K’s General Medical Council (GMC) about Dr. Andrew Wakefield and the retraction of his 1998 article, “Ileal-lymphoid-nodular hyperplasia, non-specific colitis, and pervasive developmental disorder in children” by the medical journal, Lancet. The many inquiries fall into four basic questions.

Question #1: What do you know about Dr. Wakefield’s 1998 paper? Do you feel the response of the GMC was appropriate?
Question #2: Do you have concerns over Dr. Wakefield’s failure to disclose financial links to a malpractice attorney and to patents he was working on to develop a single vaccine solution?
Question #3: Do you think the Lancet was justified in pulling the paper for pure scientific reasons?
Question #4: Are you simply a blinded, “Dr. Andy Groupie”?

Nicholas has been healing, recovering for quite some time now. We’re almost to the three year mark in his recovery and I am thankful for the tremendous progress he has made. None of this has been a “quick fix”; none of this has come without a price in one way or another. And not one of his accomplishments to date has been overlooked - we are thrilled with each step forward. Actually thrilled is not a strong enough word.

I’d like to share some things that I feel should be part of “Biomed for Autism Recovery 101″ - I hope this list is helpful….. I have picked up from experience along the way and I hope these spare you with having to figure this out for yourself. This post is not aimed at anyone - it’s just my way of trying to be helpful to anyone who is in the beginning of this journey.

In no particular order….

“This is a marathon, not a sprint…”
I know I used to get tired of hearing, “this is a marathon, not a sprint” - because let’s face it, we want our kids back NOW. But, it’s true. This is not a sprint. We are repairing our children’s bodies, their brains and many of us are cleaning up our lives with our new found knowledge. I wish recovery could happen overnight, but it takes time. It is important to pace yourself and not rush into anything. It is also important to research one area and understand it to the best of your ability before moving on to the next and the next and the next and the next.

For many children, recovering from autism is not a one-year deal. We’ve been doing biomedical intervention for three years and while my son, who has come a tremendous distance in that time – we still have a distance left to travel.

Recovery means different things to different people
Understand that different people view “recovered” differently and do not make assumptions based on your definition without taking their definition and circumstances (cause and severity of their child’s injury) into account. What do I mean by this? Recovery means different things to different people. There is wide range of opinions out there on the definition of recovered. Here are a few:

These are just a few definitions of recovery I have heard – but until you are immersed into this world, it’s hard to understand the differences - but when researching treatments and supplements and talking to parents who have gone through this before you - this is one thing that having an understanding of will help you in the long run. Do not make any assumptions just because they use the word, “recovered.”

Pace yourself when adding supplements
Go slow… Adding supplements one after another and another and another is not a wise choice. Starting a new supplement on Monday and then adding a new supplement on Wednesday is not a good idea. Why? Well, for one, supplements are expensive and the cost adds up quickly. So why spend money on something that is not working when there are other things that you could spend it on that might work? Two, why give your child a supplement he/she clearly does not need? It’s just more for their bodies to process and if it’s unnecessary, then why put your child through this?? Three - sometimes bad reactions to a supplement could take more than a day or two to be evident. Four - if you start a new supplement too soon and then start seeing good gains, which supplement did it? The new one you just started today? or the one you started 2 days ago? Knowing which supplements that don’t work for your child is as important as knowing which ones that do/did. (There are going to be supplements that your child may need regardless if you see any improvement or not - and these supplements should also be given an adequate amount of trial time before moving onto the next one.)

Here’s an example…. you start supplement X and after 3 days, the child is doing some new stuff. So you start supplement Y and you see even more great things. Which supplement caused the 2nd boost? X or Y? Problem is, you don’t know until you remove Y and see if you lose gains or keep gaining. So, after a week or two of removing Y and watching - then adding it back and watching it again, you figure out it was Y, but then, X might have done all it can and you don’t need it, but because you added Y so quickly, you keep giving X because you think it’s still needed when if you had just done x for 2 weeks in the first place, you might have seen that it was a fluke that he/she was doing great stuff for those three days because by the end of the 2 weeks, it had fizzled out.

Don’t buy tons of new supplements at one time
When placing supplement orders, do NOT buy more than ONE (or two) NEW supplements at a time. You will save yourself $$ - because more times than not, if you buy a bunch of new ones to try - you will probably end up changing your mind or seeing something else that you want to try FIRST. Buy a new one and try it. Decide whether or not it’s a keeper and move on….

Do not RUN OUT of current supplements when starting new ones
Do not let yourself run out of current supplements when you are starting new supplements. If you run out of x and then start Y and see your child regress, why did he/she regress? Was it because he/she is missing X? or was it because Y isn’t right for him/her?

Supplement Breaks & Restarting After a Break
Take a supplement break every once in a while. If you have the opportunity to stop all or most of your child’s supplements for a little while, do it. Sometimes their bodies just need a break - and sometimes you will find that a supplement that was once needed is no longer needed or that a lower dose would work just fine.

When you decide to restart, you want to add one back at a time just like you originally did - but SLOWLY and at smaller doses than what you were at before. Don’t take 2 weeks off and then put back everything at 100% of the doses the next day. If you start seeing regression, then add them back more quickly than if you do not see regression, but don’t just put everything back in place in an instant.

Don’t write off supplements forever
If your child reacts poorly to a supplement, don’t write it off forever. It might be that at this point in time, he/she cannot tolerate it or it might mean that he/she needs another supplement with it. Or maybe they don’t need it now, but might need it in the future.

Find out why they reacted poorly to a supplement
If you child reacts poorly to a supplement, try to find out why - He/she not doing well on something could provide you with some insight or a hypothesis as to what’s going on with your child’s body.

Never assume supplement formulas don’t change
Do not assume supplement formulas do not change from bottle to bottle. It is always best to compare the ingredients on bottle you just bought with the one you are throwing away.

Changing supplement brands
Changing supplement brands should be treated in the same way as adding a new supplement. And only change one at a time.

Work on swallowing capsules
For the longest time, Nicholas was drinking his disgusting supplement cocktail. Even though every day was a challenge to get him to drink it all, I would eventually prevail. Well, at some point, he flat out refused and who could really blame him? Having him not take his vitamins was not acceptable and me being stressed out constantly trying to get him to drink it was also unacceptable, so I started working on getting him to swallow capsules. And it was one of the best things I did. I started him on the tiny Oil of Oregano capsules - one per day - they are smaller than a raisin, but bigger than a tic tac. After a week or so of him being comfortable with him swallowing one of these, I moved up to the smallest regular capsule size and did this until we hit the large fish oil gelcaps. Right now, he swallows 2 of the big ones at a time with no problem whatsoever. This was one of the biggest life changing, freeing moments we had. And there was a visible difference in him going from drinking supplements to swallowing the capsules. So, all that time - how much money were we wasting on supplements that had either no effect or a lesser effect because they were mixed in liquid? Free yourself from the nasty smoothies, shooting syringes down their throats and teach them how to take their supplements. After all, it is something they are going to need to do along with putting on their clothes and shoes.

MLM Schemes
Watch out for MLM (multi-level marketing) schemes and bias from parents involved with them. I have come across warrior parents who are just looking to sell me something, telling me that it “pushed their child into recovery”, that it is the “magic bullet”, etc. And maybe for their child it was what pushed them into recovery - or maybe they would have gotten there without it and it was merely a coincidence. Or maybe it’s just a flat out lie.

I have friends who are representatives/distributors for various supplement companies and I trust them when they tell me that they became a distributor for a product because of how it helped their children/themselves because I know details about their children, their on-going recoveries, etc.

So don’t interpret this as me saying MLM supplements are bad, because that’s not what I am saying. There are a lot of good companies out there. Do your research is all that I am saying – don’t take someone’s word for something just because they are a fellow warrior parent.

Parents getting kick-backs for treatment referals
Don’t let one child’s progress or recovery lead you into spending mega-bucks on a therapy or treatment for your child. I have heard of parents getting kick-backs for referrals, which I am sure were not disclosed to those paying for their child to receive the treatment/therapy.

Do your own research! Don’t blindly follow one parent’s advice
Do your own research. I cannot stress this one enough. Each group, message board, etc. has a parent or parents who seem to be the ones answering all the questions. This does not mean that they 1) have all the answers and 2) have recovered a child anything like yours. So, make note of what they’re telling you - then use that as a direction to start your own research and make your own decisions.

Do not compare biomed progress
Try not to compare your child’s progress (biomedically) to another child. Some children are easier to recover than others. What caused autism for one child may not be the same reason as to why your child has autism. They all have different issues and may recover in different areas at a different pace. What may bring language in one child might bring increased cognitive awareness in another. Also, the level of injury of each child varies, so this needs to be taken into account as well.

Spinning in Circles
Don’t let other parents, who you think are more knowledgeable than you spin you in circles. Your child is your child and you are the only one that knows everything about them. So if you mention you want to research A and they suggest B – make sure you research both A & B – don’t just drop A to run after B because of what they said.

Massive Healing Regressions are Unnecessary
Pushing your child through massive healing regressions constantly is unnecessary in most cases. It’s one thing for them to regress a little when starting anti-fungals, anti-virals, chelation, etc. but it’s completely another story to push them through something that makes you lose a year’s worth of gains in a matter of days. Starting low and going slow is always a good idea. I had pushed Nicholas through a “healing regression” over a year ago and while we saw good things, it was unnecessary to put him (and us) through that and I would never do it again. At the time, I was blinded by all of the progress and new language that came along with the massive regression, so I pushed through, but it was stupid and almost cost me my marriage. Don’t misunderstand what I am saying - sometimes you have to deal with some negatives to get to the positives and sometimes moving forward and getting to the next step means pushing through some regression - which especially happens when starting anti-fungals for the first time. Sometimes you have to deal with a moody, cranky, tantruming, etc. kid for a few days - this is not what I am talking about. What I am referring to is a major, major regression.

Research Tips
As you are researching, make a list of other research you want to do so you can go back to the new subject later. This is helpful in keeping you on task so that you can thoroughly research the area you are on before moving to another. It’s very easy to jump from one thing to another and another and miss a crucial detail that could mean all the difference to your child.

Journal Everything
I cannot stress this enough…. Keep a journal of all things about your child. Include what food they eat, poop, mood, new things they say/do, behaviors, etc. Also be sure to keep a supplement journal noting what supplements were missed, new supplements, changed dosages, etc. You would be surprised how helpful this will be.

The right doctor for your child isn’t necessarily the most expensive DAN doctor
Just because the DAN charges the highest rate doesn’t mean they have the most knowledge - or even the appropriate knowledge to help your particular child. Talk to parents in your area about who the local doctors are that can help - and ask as many parents in your area as possible because everyone has a different experience. And ask the parents questions such as what their child was like before they started with that dr and what they’re like now. Ask how much the doctor contributed to the brainstorming process or if it was mostly the parents. Ask how much knowledge the dr has on supplements and if he/she often made recommendations for their child. Ask if that doctor keeps on top of the current treatments. Ask if the doctor writes prescriptions in between appointments or requires a pricey office/phone visit just to get a refill. Ask the parent what they think that doctors strongest areas are. Ask if the doctor is accessible in case of emergency.

Co-Pilot your child’s recovery with his/her Doctor/DAN
We learned our lesson the hard way with putting our children’s health in the hands of our pediatricians. DAN’s want to help our kids, but that does not mean that they are all knowing. Let’s not forget that all of our children’s issues are unique, so the best way to get the most out of your DAN is to be co-pilots in your child’s treatment. Work WITH your child’s doctor(s) towards recovery. And yes, that includes doing your own research.

And finally….

Don’t wait for recovery for life to start.

Pediatricians call for a choke-proof hot dog

Nutritionists have long warned of the perils of hot dogs: fat, sodium and preservatives to name a few.
Now, the American Academy of Pediatrics wants foods like hot dogs to come with a warning label — not because of their nutritional risks but because they pose a choking hazard to babies and children.

Better yet, the academy would like to see foods such as hot dogs “redesigned” so their size, shape and texture make them less likely to lodge in a youngster’s throat. More than 10,000 children under 14 go to the emergency room each year after choking on food, and up to 77 die, says the new policy statement, published online today in Pediatrics. About 17% of food-related asphyxiations are caused by hot dogs.

“If you were to take the best engineers in the world and try to design the perfect plug for a child’s airway, it would be a hot dog,” says statement author Gary Smith, director of the Center for Injury Research and Policy at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. “I’m a pediatric emergency doctor, and to try to get them out once they’re wedged in, it’s almost impossible.”

The Consumer Product Safety Commission requires labels on toys with small parts alerting people not to give them to kids under 3. Yet there are no required warnings on food, though more than half of non-fatal choking episodes involve food, Smith says.

“No parents can watch all of their kids 100% of the time,” Smith says. “The best way to protect kids is to design these risks out of existence.”

Though Smith says he doesn’t know exactly how someone would redesign a hot dog, he’s certain that some savvy inventor will find a way.

Janet Riley, president of the National Hot Dog & Sausage Council, supports the academy’s call to better educate parents and caregivers about choking prevention. “Ensuring the safety of the foods we service to children is critically important for us,” Riley says.

But Riley questions whether warning labels are needed. She notes that more than half of hot dogs sold in stores already have choking-prevention tips on their packages, advising parents to cut them into small pieces. “As a mother who has fed toddlers cylindrical foods like grapes, bananas, hot dogs and carrots, I ‘redesigned’ them in my kitchen by cutting them with a paring knife until my children were old enough to manage on their own,” Riley says.

The Food and Drug Administration, which has authority to recall products it considers “unfit for food,” plans to review the new statement, spokeswoman Rita Chappelle says.

Given the health risks of obesity, pediatrician Alan Greene, author of Feeding Baby Green, says, “The last thing we need is to redesign candy and junk food with cool shapes, so we can give them to kids even younger.”

Since the flu pandemic was declared, there have been several so-called “vaccine experts” coming out of the wood work attempting to justify the effectiveness of vaccines. All of them parrot the same ridiculous historical and pseudoscientific perspectives of vaccinations which are easily squelched with the following 9 questions.

Claim: The study of vaccines, their historical record of achievements, effectiveness, safety and mechanism in humans are well understood and proven in scientific and medical circles.
Fact: The claim is completely false.

1. What to ask: Could you please provide one double-blind, placebo-controlled study that can prove the safety and effectiveness of vaccines?

2. What to ask: Could you please provide scientific evidence on ANY study which can confirm the long-term safety and effectiveness of vaccines?

3. What to ask: Could you please provide scientific evidence which can prove that disease reduction in any part of the world, at any point in history was attributable to inoculation of populations?

4. What to ask: Could you please explain how the safety and mechanism of vaccines in the human body are scientifically proven if their pharmacokinetics (the study of bodily absorption, distribution, metabolism and excretion of ingredients) are never examined or analyzed in any vaccine study?

One of the most critical elements which defines the toxicity potential of any vaccine are its pharmacokinetic properties. Drug companies and health agencies refuse to consider the study, analysis or evaluation of the pharmacokinetic properties of any vaccine.

There is not one double-blind, placebo-controlled study in the history of vaccine development that has ever proven their safety, effectiveness or achievements (unless those achievements have underlined their damage to human health).

There are also no controlled studies completed in any country which have objectively proven that vaccines have had any direct or consequential effect on the reduction of any type of disease in any part of the world.

Every single study that has ever attempted to validate the safety and effectiveness of vaccines has conclusively established carcinogenic, mutagenic, neurotoxic or fertility impairments, but they won’t address those.

Claim: Preservatives and chemical additives used in the manufacture of vaccines are safe and no studies have been linked or proven them unsafe for use in humans.
Fact: The claim is completely false.

5. What to ask: Could you please provide scientific justification as to how injecting a human being with a confirmed neurotoxin is beneficial to human health and prevents disease?

6. What to ask: Can you provide a risk/benefit profile on how the benefits of injecting a known neurotoxin exceeds its risks to human health for the intended goal of preventing disease?

This issue is no longer even open to debate. It is a scientifically established fact in literally hundreds of studies that the preservatives and chemical additives in vaccines damage cells. Neurotoxicity, immune suppression, immune-mediated chronic inflammation and carcinogenic proliferation are just a few of several effects that have been observed on the human body. Fortunately, the drug companies still tell us the damage vaccines have on the human body. People just don’t read them. All you have to do is look at the insert for any vaccine, and it will detail the exact ingredients, alerts and potentially lethal effects.

Any medical professional who believes that it is justified to inject any type of neurotoxin into any person to prevent any disease is completely misguided, misinformed, deluded and ignorant of any logic regarding human health.

Claim: Once an individual is injected with the foreign antigen in the vaccine, that individual becomes immune to future infections.
Fact: The claim is completely false.

7. What to ask: Could you please provide scientific justification on how bypassing the respiratory tract (or mucous membrane) is advantageous and how directly injecting viruses into the bloodstream enhances immune functioning and prevents future infections?

8. What to ask: Could you please provide scientific justification on how a vaccine would prevent viruses from mutating?

9. What to ask: Could you please provide scientific justification as to how a vaccination can target a virus in an infected individual who does not have the exact viral configuration or strain the vaccine was developed for?

All promoters of vaccination fail to realize that the respiratory tract of humans (actually all mammals) contains antibodies which initiates natural immune responses within the respiratory tract mucosa. Bypassing this mucosal aspect of the immune system by directly injecting viruses into the bloodstream leads to a corruption in the immune system itself. As a result, the pathogenic viruses or bacteria cannot be eliminated by the immune system and remain in the body, where they will further grow and/or mutate as the individual is exposed to ever more antigens and toxins in the environment which continue to assault the immune system.

Despite the injection of any type of vaccine, viruses continue circulating through the body, mutating and transforming into other organisms. The ability of a vaccine manufacturer to target the exact viral strain without knowing its mutagenic properties is equivalent to shooting a gun at a fixed target that has already been moved from its location. You would be shooting at what was, not what is!

Flu viruses, may mutate, change or adapt several times over a period of one flu season, making the seasonal influenza vaccine 100% redundant and ineffective every single flu season. Ironically, the natural immune defenses of the human body can target these changes but the vaccines cannot.

I have never encountered one pro-vaccine advocate, whether medically or scientifically qualified, who could answer even 1 let alone all 9 of these questions. One or all of the following will happen when debating any of the above questions:

- They will concede defeat and admit they are stumped

- They will attempt to discredit unrelated issues that do not pertain to the question.

- They will formulate their response and rebuttal based on historical arguments and scientific studies which have been disproved over and over again. Not one pro-vaccine advocate will ever directly address these questions in an open mainstream venue.

Why Signing a Waiver to Avoid Vaccines Can Be Considered Abuse

Recently, the Washington Post printed an article about vaccine waivers that could jeopardize your parental rights: “The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that doctors ask parents who refuse to vaccinate their children to sign a waiver indicating they are aware of the risks of refusal.”

Note: Despite that vaccines have been linked to asthma, autism, diabetes, and sudden infant death syndrome, the author implies that parents are being overly theatrical about the shots.

Know Your Rights

By endorsing this particular waiver, parents would essentially be signing an admittance of neglect and/or “abuse” for refusing vaccines. The language contained in this waiver could put parents and caregivers in jeopardy down the line if they should ever find themselves in court due to their child’s health problems, confronted with child protective services, in a divorce, or in just about any matter pertaining to that child that could be used against the parent(s).

Please read any waiver provided by your child’s doctor carefully before signing. Instead, offer a formally written and signed letter that simply says that you do not wish to vaccinate your child. If you are unsure of the language in the waiver, buy some time by telling your doctor that you need to consult with a lawyer before signing it.

Know your rights - say no to vaccines. Your doctor will try to bully you - you have the right to refuse anything you feel is harmful to your child. If your doctor won’t listen, go to another doctor who will.

Check your state’s laws regarding exemption. Most states will allow you to avoid vaccinations if you have a religious or ethical reason. However - keep in mind that it is your right not to disclose your faith or your full reasons for not wanting to vaccinate your child.

You can’t tell me this sat on their website for almost six months without being noticed - and now suddenly, they don’t agree with what this man says. Yeah, okay, right.

Just wanted to update you on the statues of the Conscientious Exemption Bill. It has a new number for this new 2 year legislative cycle. The bill is A243 (coincidently, it is the same number as the NJAICV po. box that we have had for 10 years!). It has been pre-filed for this session. We do not yet have a Senate Companion bill, but hope to in the near future.

On another positive note, a constituent and I met with Assemblywoman Nellie Pou (Chair of the Appropriations Committee). She spoke with us for over an hour and has agreed to co-sponsor A243. She was quite concerned with how the Public Health Council mandates new vaccines with no accountability and agrees that parents should have a choice. Asw. Pou was also responsible for NOT posting the horrible fluoride bill in her committee, effectively killing it for the last session. (It will most likely rear its head again this session)

I want to encourage all of you to try and set up a meeting with your legislators. It is imperative that a constituent of the district be involved. We will find someone to attend a meeting with you. It seems that 2 people is a good number to go in with as it allows for some good give and take conversation. Expect to be allotted about a half hour for a meeting. They’ve also established that the cells’ antibacterial and anti-infection capabilities increased with an increase in the beta glucan dose.

Aside from stimulating the immune system, beta glucan is also found to be effective in treating cancers, radiation exposure, ulcers, trauma and infections.

Cure for Fungus
The immune system is the body’s best defense against foreign bodies. Fungi are essentially foreign bodies that live in and outside the body. Those that are found inside the body usually don’t cause harm as the immune system keeps their growth in check. A Study published in the journal Gut identified that corn gluten caused an inflammatory reaction in patients with celiac disease.

Gluten Free Society’s Stance
Corn is a grain. Corn has gluten. Many believe that corn gluten does not induce damage the same way that wheat, barley, and rye do. The fact of the matter is, gluten has not been studied adequately. Most of what we know about celiac disease and gluten have to do with gliadin (the gluten found in wheat only). As a physician with 10 years of experience treating gluten sensitivity, I have seen corn be a severe problem for the majority of gluten intolerant patients. Many claim that they don’t react to corn and feel fine after eating it. The same can be said of those with silent celiac disease. Remember that a lack of symptoms does not mean that internal damage is not occurring. All of that being said, we should not make assumptions. Common sense and intelligent thought should be used as a basis for our dietary decisions. Gluten aside, consider the following about corn:

1.It is the second most commonly genetically modified food on the planet (soy is #1)
2.Genetic modification of foods continues to kill animals in scientific studies.
3.It is an incomplete protein.
4.It is difficult for humans to digest (ever see corn in your stool?)
5.It is high in calories and low in nutrient value
6.It is a new food to the human genome.
7.It is being used as a staple food for our cattle, fish, chicken, and cars.
8.Cows and fish are not designed to eat grain. (Have you ever seen a fish jump out of a lake into a corn field for supper?)
9.When animals eat corn as a staple they have shorter life spans.
10.Corn fed beef is linked to heart disease, diabetes, cancer, and obesity. Grass fed beef is not.
11.Fructose derived from corn is toxic to the liver and contributes to severe health issues.
12.Corn syrup has mercury in it.
13.The list can go on and on and on…
Many consumers bow to the alter of “Gluten Free” packaged foods as if the label is a safety net. ”Gluten Free” on the package does not mean that the food is healthy. Do not deny yourself the God given right to be healthy.

Remember, corn has gluten. The gluten in corn has not been adequately studied. Many studies to date have shown that corn induces inflammatory damage in those with gluten sensitivity. Almost half of all celiac patients don’t get better on a wheat, rye, and barley free diet. Is their a link between corn and refractory celiac disease? At this point in time we do not know for sure, but 10 years of clinical experience with gluten intolerant patients reacting to corn is enough data for me.

Randi Allaire was an Information Management Specialist in the military for almost four years. Three and one-half years were spent with the Air National Guard as Information Management, the previous five and half was with the Army Guard as a Flight Operations Specialist.

As part of the military’s program to protect their troops from chemical and biological weapons, Randi was required to take the anthrax vaccine. On March 14, 1999 she was given her fourth anthrax vaccine. It was after that shot that she has suffered chronic fatigue, memory lapses, migraines, pain in the forearms, and other aches and pains. She received no help with her condition and only denials that the anthrax vaccine could cause any of these problems and that the cause of her problems was likely the “flu” or too much “stress”. She was eventually thrown out of the military because she refused to take the fifth anthrax vaccine shot in fear for her own personal health.

Aluminum is the most commonly licensed adjuvant that is added to a large number of vaccines. An adjuvant is a substance added to a vaccine to amplify the immune response. Aluminum compounds, which were identified over 90 years ago as adjuvants, are considered by the pharmaceutical industry and various government agencies as safe. The FDA (Food and Drug Administration) has continued to approve the use of aluminum as an additive to vaccines for many years.

Despite these assurances that aluminum and all vaccine ingredients are safe, large numbers of military veterans who suffer from Gulf War Syndrome as well as parents of children who suffer from various neurologic conditions including Autism strongly believe that the vaccines were often at least in part a cause of their health problems.

A recent study in the Journal of Inorganic Biochemistry examined the possible neurotoxicity of aluminum. This new work builds on a previous study where the researchers had injected mice with a combination of aluminum and squalene, another vaccine adjuvant which is not licensed in North America.
In that study the investigators injected mice with adjuvants that mimicked the anthrax vaccine schedule set by the Anthrax Vaccine Immunization Program. The investigators concluded in that study”our data suggest that the aluminum hydroxide adjuvant induces both behavioral and motor deficits and the loss of motor neurons and increased presence of astrocytes [astrocytes are cells that express inflammatory markers] in spinal cord and neuronal apoptosis [cell death] in the primary motor cortex.” When Professor Shaw was asked in an article by Pieta Wooley about this research Professor Shaw replied “No one in my lab wants to get vaccinated. This totally creeped us out. We weren’t out there to poke holes in vaccines. But all of a sudden, oh my God-we’ve got neuron death!”

In this new study (also termed experiment 2), mice received 6 aluminum hydroxide injections over a 2 week period. These mice along with control mice were subjected to a more rigorous behavioral testing regime than the original experiment.

The investigators found “the multiple aluminum hydroxide injections of experiment 2 showed profound effects on motor and other behaviours… Multiple aluminum injections produced significant behavioural outcomes including changes in locomotion behavior, and induced memory deficits on water maze tasks.”

I asked Professor Shaw “To your knowledge have there been any autopsies performed on service men and women that had GWS [Gulf War Syndrome] and have died to examine if they have a similar pattern of aluminum contamination that you discovered in your research?” He responded “that it has not been done to my knowledge.” I also asked “Has there been an examination of people with autism to examine the obvious likely link between aluminum and mercury contamination and that condition?” Again he responded “Not to my knowledge.”

It is important to note that while this and their previous study showed “significant behavioural and neuropathological outcomes with aluminum hydroxide” that these results were achieved under minimal conditions and that the effect of multiple other factors in real situation such as “stress, multiple vaccinations, and exposure to other toxins” would more than likely make the outcomes worse. “A recent study examining some of these factors in combination showed that stress, vaccination, and pyridostigmine bromide (Pyridostigmine bromide has been FDA approved for military use during combat situations as an agent to be given prior to exposure to the nerve agent Soman in order to increase survival), may synergistically act on multiple stress-activated kinases in the brain to induce neurologic impairment in GWS.”

I asked Professor Shaw, “In your opinion why do various governmental agencies continue to insist that vaccines are safe when you clearly state in your research paper that ‘it also seems that there have been no rigorous animal studies of potential aluminum adjuvant toxicity. The absence of such studies is peculiar given the well known observation that aluminum in general can be neurotoxic under a number of conditions and adjuvants in particular have previously been implicated in neurological disease’?” Professor Shaw replied “A less charitable person than I would likely look at links between pharma and the regulatory agencies. I don’t know of any safe adjuvants. Aluminum is the one considered ‘safe’.”

The authors conclude, “Overall, the results reported here mirror previous work that has clearly demonstrated that aluminum, in both oral and injected forms, can be neurotoxic.” I followed up with Professor Shaw “knowing what you know about aluminum from your research would you personally use a vaccine that contains aluminum?” He responded “No, and I don’t.”

Much has happened in the last few weeks surrounding Andrew Wakefield, and I have not been available to write about it. It has been truly frustrating to see this story reported as if the GMC hearing was legit and The Lancet as if it was a respectable and unbiased publication, rather than the dog fight between corporate interests and safety advocates that it actually is. Was the fact that 21 autism organizations in the US and UK filed perjury charges against the head of the Lancet for lying about Wakefield’s disclosures of his conflicts in the GMC hearing not relevant to the fact that the Lancet retracted Wakefield’s article the following week? Apparently the press didn’t think so.

Also fascinating that they have tried to portray Wakefield as the guy that invented the autism/vaccine connection, despite the fact that Leo Kanner reported that one of his first 11 cases in the 1940’s was a regression following a smallpox vaccine, the VCIP has been paying autism cases for 25 years, and I first heard about the connection in my undergrad psych program in 1988 at George Mason University, so that they can use this GMC hearing to declare the vaccine controversy over. (I have forty or so studies on my “no evidence of any link” page supporting the vaccine/autism connection and I have never even had Wakefield’s MMR paper up there.

The UK’s General Medical Council issued formal written advice to UK medical doctors to commit fraud on the UK’s National Health Service for personal financial gain.

If UK doctors met target levels for vaccinations they qualified for bonus payments. One way of claiming was to make a false return. The GMC’s advice was for doctors to file false returns of the numbers of patients who had received the MMR vaccine. Doctors were advised to take unvaccinated child patients off the patient list temporarily to claim the bonuses but also to ensure the parent agreed, [thereby implicating parents in the fraud].

The GMC is the UK statutory body established to protect, promote and maintain the health and safety of the public by ensuring proper standards in the practice of medicine by medical doctors. Dishonesty, financial impropriety and fraud fall within its purview [in more ways than one it would seem].

This is the same organisation which recently found Professors Walker-Smith, Simon Murch and Dr Andrew Wakefield guilty of numerous charges filed by Sunday Times’ journalist Brian Deer. No parent complained and the doctors enjoy wide support amongst parents of many autistic children they did their best to help. Other doctors who have refused to toe the UK’s Department of Health line on medical practice have found themselves facing or threatened with proceedings by the GMC including amongst many others these four cases: UK’s GMC, Dr Jayne Donegan’s Story, Vaccines & MMR – - Dr Sarah Myhill – - Dr Peter Mansfield – - Dr. Barry Durrant-Peatfield.

So if it concerns getting MMR vaccine uptake up to help the drug industry, fraud is fine. But make sure you implicate the parents and what better way to do that than to pressure them into agreeing their children become temporary patients possibly for emergency treatment only or else be dumped from the patient roster completely. But if you raise valid concerns about the safety of vaccinations watch out.

The GMC is independent (allegedly) of the NHS and of Government but in practice is run and controlled by the UK medical heirarchy. Where the GMC finds that a doctor is not fit to practise, it has legal power to erase that doctor’s name from the medical register, to suspend the doctor from the register or to place conditions on the doctor’s practice. These restrictions apply to practice in any sector of employment in any part of the UK.

The GMC has a great notoriety in the UK with frequent calls for it to be abolished.

The GMC Formal Advice to Doctors to Commit Fraud
The GMC posed the question “Can GPs remove some children from their lists, temporarily, for the purpose of calculating the MMR target payment?” in an article entitled “Target Payments for Preventive Health Measures” first published in GMC News in June 2003.

And the GMC’s answer was effectively “it’s OK provided you have patient consent“. It seems it also happens to be OK if it helps to increase the MMR uptake figures. The advice was not offered for other vaccinations.

The GMC also failed to make mention of the financial and moral impropriety of doing so in their answer to the question they themselves posed:-

This must not be done without the parents’ agreement. Parents must be given a full explanation of what was proposed and why, their child’s rights as an NHS patient, and the implications for their child’s future care. Doctors working within the NHS must treat all patients entitled to NHS services on an equal footing. So temporarily removing a child from a GPs list must not adversely affect their care, for example in accessing secondary care and out-of-hours services, or in providing relevant information to ensure continuity of care and allow effective working with other agencies. Doctors must act honestly in their financial dealings. So GPs must ensure that any arrangement to remove a child from their list and re-register them for ‘immediately necessary treatment’, or on some other basis, would be in line with their contractual obligations to the NHS.“

So provided the doctor does what the GMC advises and ensures “that any arrangement … would be in line with their contractual obligations to the NHS” it is fine as “Doctors must act honestly in their financial dealings“.

All this is of course barking mad.

The GMC also advised that if the evidence is available this is not contrary to GMC guidance on good medical practice:-

“Are temporary removals from a GPs list acceptable to the GMC? In the absence of evidence that ‘temporary removals’ satisfy the concerns outlined at Q5, we cannot give any reassurance that such arrangements would be seen as consistent with our guidance on good practice.“

The conflict with the GMC’s other advice is clear. The GMC advised UK doctors “must not ask for or accept any inducement, gift or hospitality which may affect or be seen to affect the way you prescribe for, treat or refer patients.“: Conflicts of interest – guidance for doctors

But it seems the GMC do not mind when it comes to MMR, even where the inducement is so strong it encourages fraud on the NHS. But then, the GMC did not seem to mind about that either.

Ironically “GMC Today” newsletter carried a story titled “Is the NHS immune to fraud?” [Oct 2005] about reducing and reporting fraud in the National Health Service, stating:-

Most people who work in and use the NHS are honest, but there is a minority that tries to defraud it of its valuable resources. By working to reduce fraud and corruption to an absolute minimum and hold it there permanently, the NHS CFSMS can release these resources for better patient care. In the largest organisation in Europe, even a small proportion of fraudulent staff and patients has a huge impact. Fraud is committed by a range of NHS professionals, who might claim for work not undertaken, alter prescriptions, create ghost patients or make fraudulent claims for out of hours visits, advice not given or treatment not provided. In some areas, claims by NHS professionals fell by between 43% and 54% after processes were fraud-proofed.

It is now accepted that even the NHS is not immune to fraud.

The GMC has an agreement on cooperating and coordinating with the NHS Counter Fraud service. The story gave a number to call the confidential NHS Fraud and Corruption Reporting Line and an email address too. It reports:-

“If you have a concern about a fraud taking place within the NHS, please call the confidential NHS Fraud and Corruption Reporting Line on 0800 028 40 60. All calls will be dealt with by trained staff and professionally investigated. Lines are open Monday to Friday 8 am–6 pm. You can also email us at nhsfraud@cfsms.nhs.uk at any time.” Memorandum of Understanding between the General Medical Council (GMC) and the National Health Service Counter Fraud Service (NHS CFS)

When Was This?
When this news was published by The OneClickGroup in October 2007 the GMC’s response was to claim the advice was withdrawn in 2006. But the fact the advice was published at all is damning. Not only that, the advice continued to be published on the GMC website as late as 7th October 2007 with no indication to doctors it had been withdrawn.

After The OneClickGroup’s exposée the GMC removed the page containing the advice from its website and republished the advice but with a banner across it claiming “Withdrawn November 2006?: Target Payments for Preventive Health Measures.

Additionally, the advice was published for over 4 years from June 2003 until October 2007 [just about the time the GMC was ready to attack Wakefield, Walker-Smith and Murch].

Who Ran The GMC Then?
The President when the advice was first published until 2009 was Sir Graeme Catto – also incumbent when the GMC started the proceedings against Walker-Smith, Murch and Wakefield.

So it just goes to show, you cannot trust anyone in “authority” these days.

New York (CNN) — More than 1,000 people in New Jersey and New York, many of them adolescent Orthodox Jews, have been sickened with mumps since August, health authorities said Monday.

Orange County, New York, has confirmed 494 cases since early November, county spokesman Richard Mayfield told CNN. Almost all of those infected with the virus are of the Orthodox or Hasidic Jewish population, and their average age is 14, he said.

Neighboring Rockland County has confirmed 317 cases since August, with all of the sick from the Orthodox Jewish community, said Kathleen Henry, county Deputy Commissioner of Health. Their average is 14 to 18, she said.

Just south of the two counties, in New York City, Brooklyn had 79 confirmed cases of mumps as of October 30, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported in November. Any confirmation of other infections in the city are expected to be announced Tuesday.

The mumps outbreak began at a summer camp for Orthodox Jewish boys in Sullivan County, New York, according to the CDC. Health officials have linked the outbreak to an 11-year-old boy at the camp. He had recently returned from the United Kingdom, where a mumps outbreak had spread to 4,000 people.

The mumps outbreak also spread to Ocean County, New Jersey, where 159 confirmed cases have been diagnosed since September, county spokeswoman Leslie Terjesen told CNN. An additional 70 others are suspected of having mumps, she said.

Only seven of the infected are not Orthodox Jewish, but they all had exposure to the community, Terjesen said. The average age of the sick is 21, she said.

Lakewood, New Jersey, Rabbi Yehunda Pirutinsky was surprised when his 14-year-old son was diagnosed with mumps a week ago. Lakewood is in Ocean County.

“He was completely vaccinated,” Pirutinsky said. “So it was a surprise to us he came down with mumps.”

Anyone fully vaccinated from mumps receives two doses of the vaccine, according to the CDC. Of the New Jersey cases, 77 percent were vaccinated, Terjesen said.

But the vaccine is not 100 percent effective, according to the CDC. At two doses, the vaccine is 76 to 95 percent effective, the CDC says on its Web site.

In November, the CDC called the spike in mumps cases, “the largest U.S. mumps outbreak since 2006, when the United States experienced a resurgence of mumps with 6,584 reported cases.” Then, only 179 people were sickened in New York and New Jersey.

Mumps is a contagious disease caused by a virus, according to the CDC. Initial symptoms appear 12 to 25 days after infection and include fever, headache, muscle aches and loss of appetite. Mumps can cause the jaw and cheeks to swell, with further complications including the inflammation of the brain, testicles or ovaries, and deafness, according to the CDC.

Pirutinsky’s son has fully recovered from his bout with mumps, which Pirutinsky assumes he contracted while at his Jewish high school. A doctor advised the teenager to not attend school for a week and limit time with his siblings, Pirutinsky said.

The outbreak has disproportionately affected Orthodox Jewish communities, but Pirutinsky said he wasn’t overly worried.

“I wouldn’t say the community is alarmed, but it’s something we’re aware of,” he said.

Ajinomoto brands aspartame AminoSweet

Ajinomoto has unveiled a new brand name for its aspartame sweetener which draws on its origin from amino acids.

Aspartame has been approved as a sweetener in Europe for some 25 years, and is used across food and beverage categories in products marketed as low calorie or sugar-free. Its reputation has been clouded somewhat by some negative perceptions amongst consumers and some studies that have investigated reports of ill-effects – despite regulatory and scientific authorities finding no just cause to reassess its status.

On announcing at FiE last week that its aspartame will now be called AminoSweet, Ajinomoto said it “believes that the time is right to remind people that aspartame is made from two amino acids and brings absolutely nothing new to the diet, just sweetness without the calories”.

Dr. Andrew Wakefield is being discredited to prevent an historic study from being published that for the first time looks at vaccinated versus unvaccinated primates and compares health outcomes, with potentially devastating consequences for vaccine makers and public health officials.

It is our most sincere belief that Dr. Wakefield and parents of children with autism around the world are being subjected to a remarkable media campaign engineered by vaccine manufacturers reporting on the retraction of a paper published in The Lancet in 1998 by Dr. Wakefield and his colleagues.

The retraction from The Lancet was a response to a ruling from England’s General Medical Council, a kangaroo court where public health officials in the pocket of vaccine makers served as judge and jury. Dr. Wakefield strenuously denies all the findings of the GMC and plans a vigorous appeal.

Despite rampant misreporting, Dr. Wakefield’s original paper regarding 12 children with severe bowel disease and autism never rendered any judgment whatsoever on whether or not vaccines cause autism, and The Lancet’s retraction gets us no closer to understanding this complex issue.

Dr. Wakefield is one of the world’s most respected and well-published gastroenterologists. He has published dozens of papers since 1998 in well-regarded peer-reviewed journals all over the world. His work documenting the bowel disease of children with autism and his exploration of novel ways to treat bowel disease has helped relieve the pain and suffering of thousands of children with autism.

For the past decade, parents in our community have been clamoring for a relatively simple scientific study that could settle the debate over the possible role of vaccines in the autism epidemic once and for all: compare children who have been vaccinated with children who have never received any vaccines and see if the rate of autism is different or the same.

Few people are aware that this extremely important work has not only begun, but that a study using an animal model has already been completed exploring this topic in great detail.

Dr. Wakefield is the co-author, along with eight other distinguished scientists from institutions like the University of Pittsburgh, the University of Kentucky, and the University of Washington, of a set of studies that explore the topic of vaccinated versus unvaccinated neurological outcomes using monkeys.

The first phase of this monkey study was published three months ago in the prestigious medical journal Neurotoxicology, and focused on the first two weeks of life when the vaccinated monkeys received a single vaccine for Hepatitis B, mimicking the U.S. vaccine schedule. The results, which you can read for yourself HERE, were disturbing. Vaccinated monkeys, unlike their unvaccinated peers, suffered the loss of many reflexes that are critical for survival.

Dr. Wakefield and his scientific colleagues are on the brink of publishing their entire study, which followed the monkeys through the U.S. childhood vaccine schedule over a multi-year period. It is our understanding that the difference in outcome for the vaccinated monkeys versus the unvaccinated controls is both stark and devastating.

There is no question that the publication of the monkey study will lend substantial credibility to the theory that over-vaccination of young children is leading to neurological damage, including autism. The fallout from the study for vaccine makers and public health officials could be severe. Having denied the possibility of the vaccine-autism connection for so long while profiting immensely from a recent boom in vaccine sales around the world, it’s no surprise that they would seek to repress this important work.

Behind the scenes, the pressure to keep the work of Dr. Wakefield and his colleagues from being published is immense, and growing every day. Medical journals take extreme risk of backlash in publishing any studies that question the safety of the vaccination program, no matter how well-designed and thorough the research might be. Neurotoxicology, a highly-respected medical journal, deserves great credit for courageously publishing the first phase of this vaccinated monkey study.

The press has been deeply misled in the way The Lancet retraction, and Dr. Wakefield’s mock trial, have been characterized. Led by the pharmaceutical companies and their well-compensated spokespeople, Dr. Wakefield is being vilified through a well-orchestrated smear campaign designed to prevent this important new work from seeing the light of day.

What medical journal would want to step in front of this freight train? Moreover, why now, after 12 years of inaction, did The Lancet and GMC suddenly act? Is it coincidence that the monkey study is currently being submitted to medical journals for review and publication?

We urge the media to take a close look at the first phase of the monkey study discussed above and to start asking a very simple question: What was the final outcome of the 14 primates that were vaccinated using the U.S. vaccine schedule and how did that compare to the unvaccinated controls?

The U.S. vaccine schedule has grown from 10 vaccines given to our children in the 1980s to 36 today, perfectly matching the dramatic rise in autism. The work of Dr. Wakefield and his colleagues deserves to be shared with the world to further, rather than censor, scientific progress.

On Thursday, January 28th 2010, The GMC,General Medical Council, will release their finding in the professional misconduct charges filed against Dr. Andrew Wakefield and Professors John Walker-Smith and Simon Murch. While the verdict is days away, I don’t think anyone personally affected by the autism / vaccine connection is incredibly optimistic regarding this outcome. If you are, then you need to remove your rose-colored glasses and take a reality pill.

While many of us here in the U.S. that are closely involved in the autism community know of Dr. Wakefield’s work and are subsequently thankful for his truthfulness at the risk of his own professional reputation, we are also very cognizant of the corruption in all of our governments. The British government has proven themselves time and time again to be more corrupt than that of the U.S. (as hard as that may be for many of us to believe here in America) so we must be prepared for the worst case scenario as we hope for the best.

The British government, medical establishment and the Press have spent countless years and British pounds in what we know to be the “witch hunt” of the twenty-first century. To think that they will all of the sudden allow this case to come to fruition without serious consequences brought on these brave researchers, is an issue that must be addressed. I am hopeful that justice will prevail. I am hopeful that Brian Deer, the British free-lance journalist that has been the catalyst of the damaging charges against the doctors, will hang his head in shame at the verdict. But we must be prepared for the worst.

I have to admit, as a former teacher, I used to cringe when I saw the amounts of soda my students could put away in a day. We may as well have installed a soda pop fountain instead of the water fountain. Later, as I worked with parents of infants, I almost choked on a bite of lunch one day to see a baby’s bottle filled with Coke. Since that memorable day, I have met others who regularly purchase Pepsi for their tots and think nothing of it when they stock the fridge with Mt. Dew.

One thing I know for sure: soda in no way benefits your baby, your child (or you!)

According to the Nutrition Research Center, this is what happens to your body within 1 hour of drinking a can of soda:

-10 minutes: 10 teaspoons of sugar hit your system, which is 100 percent of your recommended daily intake. You’d normally vomit from such an intake, but the phosphoric acid cuts the flavor.

-20 minutes: Your blood sugar skyrockets. Your liver attempts to maximize insulin production in order to turn high levels of sugar into fat.

-40 minutes: As your body finishes absorbing the caffeine, your pupils dilate, your blood pressure rises, and your liver pumps more sugar into the bloodstream. Adenosine receptors in your brain are blocked preventing you from feeling how tired you may actually be.

-45 minutes: Your body increases dopamine production, tricking you into feeling pleasure and adding to the addictiveness of the beverage. This physical neuro response works the same way as it would if we were consuming heroin.

>60 minutes: The phosphoric acid binds calcium, magnesium and zinc in your lower intestine, which boosts your metabolism a bit further. High doses of sugar and artificial sweeteners compound this effect, increasing the urinary excretion of calcium. The caffeine’s diuretic properties come into play. (You have to GO!) Your body will eliminate the bonded calcium, magnesium and zinc that was otherwise heading to your bones. And you will also flush out the sodium, electrolytes and water. (NaturalNews) Monsanto, the multinational agriculture giant most known for its propagation of genetically-modified (GM) crops, has decided to resurrect its pursuit of GM wheat. Abandoned in 2004 due to opposition from American growers, merchants, and consumers, Monsanto’s GM wheat program is making a comeback.

Apparently many American wheat growers have since changed their mind about the issue. A survey conducted back in February revealed that more than 75 percent of wheat farmers are now interested in growing GM wheat. Citing concerns about pestilence and disease, farmers are reevaluating GM wheat based on claims by Monsanto that GM wheat will fare better than conventional in resisting bugs, disease, drought and frost.

Many nations around the world, including industrialized nations in Asia and Europe, have wholly rejected GM crops and foods that are made with them. Since 45 percent of the U.S. wheat crop is exported to Europe and Japan alone, the decision to allow GM wheat to be grown in the States will have a huge negative impact on the wheat business.

Hinged upon the recent food crisis in 2008 that caused the price of wheat to more than triple, Monsanto’s endeavors to capitalize on wheat by altering it genetically could not have been timed more precisely. Both China and Australia have been researching and running trials on Monsanto’s GM wheat for years and North America looks to be next if the AgriGiant has its way.

Earlier this year, Monsanto purchased Montana-based WestBred, a company that specializes in germplasm wheat breeding. This move indicates that the corporation intends to move forward with its plan to bring GM wheat to North America.

Concerns about the negative effects of GM crops, which include a variety of illnesses and digestive tract problems when consumed, continue to warrant opposition to their use. Conventional crop fields have also been shown to become contaminated with GM seed through pollination and cross-contamination.

If the public hopes to prevent wheat from taking the same GM course that corn and soy have, it is going to have to express loud and clear opposition to its introduction.

Breast milk from young women – rather than from women older than 35 – has the highest measured levels of commonly used flame retardants known as PBDEs.

A study of breast milk samples from more than 300 women in North Carolina finds flame retardants contaminate the milk from almost three-quarters of the woman in the study. Women older than 35 had the lowest levels of PBDEs in their milk. The highest levels were measured in breast milk from women aged 25 to 29, followed by women younger than 25 years old.

The results suggest that younger mothers may have higher exposure to these flame retardant chemicals through their environment or lifestyles.

PBDEs are chemicals used in electronics, furniture, carpeting and textiles to reduce the risk of fire. In rats, early life exposures to PBDE has been associated with altered thyroid hormone function, hyperactivity and poorer learning and memory. Human health effects are not so well understood.

Most Americans have detectable levels of PBDEs in their blood. Dust and food may be the biggest sources for people. Breast fed babies are exposed through breast milk, however, experts agree that breastfeeding also provides important nutritional and immune benefits for the infant.

The study also found higher levels of these fat-soluble chemicals among obese women.

Interestingly, longer breastfeeding did not appear to lower PBDE levels in breast milk. Measured levels in breast feeding mothers a year after they gave birth were not significantly different from their levels when their infants were 3 months old. Having more previous pregnancies was also not associated with lower PBDE levels.

These findings are in contrast to other persistent pollutants, such as PCBs or DDT, which have been shown to decrease in the mother’s body and her breastmilk with longer breastfeeding. The author’s speculate that levels may not decrease either because mothers’ exposure to PBDEs is on-going or because maternal weight loss after pregnancy continues to mobilize PBDEs from fat stores.

The researchers measured and compared levels of individual and total PBDEs. Measured levels of total PBDEs in the samples were higher than those reported in other studies and ranged widely, from 1 to 2,010 nanograms per gram of fat.

PBDE compounds have been banned in Europe and several U.S. states, and legislation to further limit use in pending in many regions.

Update - 1/27/2010: After speaking with a friend, I decided to be a little bit quicker at increasing the dose here. Today was his first day of 2 dropperfuls 2x a day. Nothing to report yet - but no negatives either. Also wanted to note that we have not seen any OCD yet either. Other probiotics with strep strains make him OCD within a matter of a day or two.

With other probiotics containing the streptococcus strain, we would see OCD symptoms in about 2 days which would progressively get worse as time went on. We’ve seen nothing like this with Cytoflora.

Harvard Takes it Back and Says Swine Flu was Oversold

Perhaps the most derided of alternative medicines is my own favorite — homeopathy. Over the past few years, detractors have focused their efforts in the United Kingdom and have succeeded in crippling homeopathic hospitals and clinics funded by the National Health Service, as well as the practices of many homeopaths. A few well-placed editorials in prominent newspapers have done the trick, despite the fact that Prince Charles and the rest of the royal family are ardent supporters of homeopathy.

It now seems that some of these folks are taking their show on the road. Two key UK players, Michael Baum and Edzard Ernst have published a commentary in the November 2009 issue of the American Journal of Medicine [2] in which they state, “a belief in homeopathy exceeds the tolerance of an open mind. We should start from the premise that homeopathy cannot work and that positive evidence reflects publication bias or design flaws until proved otherwise.”

Not surprisingly, their commentary also reflects a complete ignorance of homeopathy and the range of studies that support its effectiveness. For example, their article incorrectly uses the term “potentation” instead of “potentization” for the method used to create homeopathic remedies (more on this later). The authors also insist on citing a single negative meta-analysis study that has already been shown to be methodologically flawed [3], while ignoring many positive studies in respected publications, including two other meta-analyses that showed positive results [4-9].

So why do the skeptics love to hate homeopathy? Perhaps because it is one of the most threatening alternative modalities — financially, philosophically, and therapeutically. Actually, homeopathy has been a threat to allopathy ever since the 1800s, when German physician Samuel Hahnemann developed the homeopathic system.

Hahnemann, a respected doctor and chemist who helped to pioneer the importance of hygiene as well as homeopathy, was forced to move frequently during his life because the local German apothecaries objected to the fact that he created his own medicines rather than use theirs. A fierce battle was also waged against homeopathy in the United States during the 1800s, where homeopathy had achieved a strong presence by 1840. In fact, in 1847, the American Medical Association (AMA) was formed specifically to fight the battle against homeopathy.

Most homeopaths of the 1800s were former allopaths who had abandoned their brethren because they found Hahnemann’s system to be more successful in battling cholera, typhus, yellow fever, diptheria, influenza, and other epidemics of the 1800s. In retaliation, the preamble to the AMA’s charter forbade its members to associate with homeopaths or to use their medicines, and many doctors were expelled for failing to comply.

But does homeopathy really pose such a threat to conventional medicine today? To see how the little David of homeopathy could take down the Goliath of big pharma, we need to take a closer look at what homeopathy is all about.

In the last decade the majority of outcome-oriented physicians observed a major shift: we realized that it was neither the lack of vitamins or growth hormone that made our patients ill. We discovered that toxicity and chronic infections were most often at the core of the client’s suffering.

We watched the discussion, which infection may be the primary one: mycoplasma, stealth viruses, HHV-6, trichomonas, Chlamydia pneumoniae, leptospirosis, mutated strep, or what else?

The new kid on the block is Borrelia burgdorferi (Bb) and some of us have looked at it for a long time as possibly being the bug that opens the door for all the other infections to enter the system. Another one is Lyme disease, which has become a buzzword in the alternative medical field.

Since none of the recommended treatments are specific to either one of the microbes, we can never assume that we really know what we treated once a patient has recovered.

Microbiologist Gitte Jensen, PhD, had shown that the older you get, the more foreign DNA is attached to your own DNA. Somewhere along the line, pathogenic microbes invade the host’s DNA and become a permanent part of it. Since you use only 2 percent of your DNA, it may not be a problem. In fact, it may make you who you finally become. It may also cause a number of symptoms and chronic illness.

Genius Guenther Enderlein’s discoveries take us off the hook: if one microbe can change into another given the right environment, why bother to find out who we are infected with? The book “Lab 257” suggests that Bb is an escaped man-made US military bio-warfare organism (just like myoplasma incognitus and HHV 6).

Other authors suggest that different subtypes of Borrelia, which cause illness in humans, such as B. afzelii and B.garinii have probably existed longer than B.burgdorferi and occur naturally and have been with us for a long time, maybe centuries or much longer than that.

According to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), TBI can be mild, moderate, or severe, depending on the extent of the damage to the brain. And symptoms can range from dizziness, headaches and memory problems to difficulty thinking, coma or even a vegetative state.

Unfortunately, there is no effective medical treatment for TBI. Although doctors can relieve the dangerous swelling that occurs after a traumatic brain injury, there is currently no way to reverse the underlying brain damage that can lead to cognitive losses in memory, learning and other functions. But neuroscientists think that could change, thanks to a natural treatment. A new study recently published in the online issue of the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences suggests natural amino acids hold the key to healing brain injuries.

For the National Institutes of Health (NIH) funded research, neuroscientists fed amino acids to brain-injured mice. The results? The animals’ cognitive abilities were restored. That, the researchers stated in a media release, may set the stage for the first effective treatment for cognitive impairments suffered by people with TBI. If these results from animal studies can be translated to human medicine, the impact will be huge, they added — because every 23 seconds, a man, woman or child in the United States suffers a TBI.

“We have shown in an animal model that dietary intervention can restore a proper balance of neurochemicals in the injured part of the brain, and simultaneously improves cognitive performance,” said study leader Akiva S. Cohen, Ph.D., a neuroscientist at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, in a statement to the press.

For their study, the researchers used a mix of three branched chain amino acids (BCAAs), specifically leucine, isoleucine and valine. BCAAs are crucial to brain health because they are precursors of two neurotransmitters — glutamate and gamma-aminobutyric acid, or GABA. These neurotransmitters work together to balance brain activity. Specifically, glutamate excites neurons, stimulating them to fire, while GABA dampens down the firing of brain cells. A TBI can upset this balance and keep the brain from functioning normally.

Frequently, a TBI damages the structure deep in the brain involved in higher learning and memory known as the hippocampus. In their new study, the scientists discovered that an injury to the hippocampus reduces levels of BCAAs. That throws the critical balance of neurotransmitters in the hippocampus into disarray, causing some localized regions of the brain to be more excitable and others less excitable.

To test the idea that dietary BCAAs would restore the normal balance of neural responses to brain-injured animals, the scientists worked with mice that had been conditioned to fear a mild electric shock in their cage. The animals had developed a “freezing” response when placed in the cage because they anticipated a shock. Then the research team created brain injuries in one group of mice with this conditioned fear response and, a week later, compared this group to animals conditioned to the fear response that had no TBI. The injured mice had partially lost their memory of past shocks and so had fewer “freezing” responses.

However, when the brain-injured mice were given water to drink that contained BCAAs, the amino acid cocktail restored their learning ability and they regained the same normal responses as the uninjured animals. Moreover, additional experiments showed that BCAAs had restored the animals’ normal balance of neural activity.

Previous studies have revealed that people with brain injuries show mild functional improvements after receiving BCAAs through an intravenous line (IV). Dr. Cohen stated the new study suggests that BCAAs used as a dietary supplement could offer more sustained benefits than amino acids given through IVs. Early-phase clinical trials of dietary BCAAs in patients with mild to moderate traumatic brain injuries are expected to begin over the next year.

In June of 2008, I participated in the Green Our Vaccines march on Washington D.C. The march had over 8,000 people attending and I still think fondly of the sight of tying up traffic in our nation’s capitol. We started the march at the Washington Monument and marched through the streets to the lawn of the Capitol building and as the head of the march was reaching the Capitol, 1.3 miles away, the rear of the line still had yet to begin marching through the streets, definitely a sight to behold. The tee shirts that most of us wore on the march stated “Green Our Vaccines” on the front of the shirt and on the back of the shirt was the mantra “Too Many Too Soon”.

While many doctors and researchers in the mainstream medical community continue to state that while there are indeed more vaccines on the mandated schedule in America, they claim that there are far fewer antigens (the actual viruses)in the vaccines, thereby making them far more safe than those of the past decades. There is no doubt in my mind that this is happening. The question of the century would then have to be: with all of the evidence pointing to vaccines as the culprit in the onslaught of autoimmune diseases in this country and abroad, why in the world is this still going on?

We have witnessed the Dr. Andrew Wakefield debacle going on in England through the General medical Council fitness to practice hearing. This hearing has been influenced by the pharmaceutical companies and is indicative of how all of our mainstream medical organizations are enslaved by the pharmaceutical industry.

The driving force behind this particular hearing has been The Sunday Times of London and a “free-lance” reporter named Brian Deer. While one would hope that journalists and newspapers would act responsibly, especially with such an important topic as vaccines, this is unfortunately not the case here. I find it hard to believe that the fact that James Murdoch, The Sunday Time’s editor, also happens to sit on the board of Glaxxo Smith Kline, the maker of the MMR vaccine in Europe, is not a point of interest to the media.

This unfortunately happens all too frequently and it must stop. There is little doubt that the growing number of auto immune diseases across the planet has become a veritable gold mine for the drug manufacturers, selling their poisonous and expensive drugs to those already affected previously by their poisons. The fact that all of our media is dependent upon advertising revenue from these very same companies can no longer go ignored. We are not only fighting a ravenous drug cartel that would make a Columbian cocaine kingpin look like a typical street pusher, we are also fighting a medical establishment and media that are bound by their masters to ensure that this information never becomes mainstreamed.

When brave researchers like those in Japan, Canada and England step up to the plate and attempt to tell the truth about the onslaught of diseases caused by these government mandated vaccines, it is our job to ensure that the information gets to the parents that so desperately need it. To do otherwise would be a crime and criminals seem to be prolific on the other side of the controversy.

The true criminals are not those impoverished young men and women sitting in our prisons for selling a dime bag on the street. The true criminals sit in our capitol buildings, Congress, the Senate and parliaments across the world. The true criminals are the editors, producers and journalists that sell their souls for advertising dollars and Euros at the expense of our children. The true criminals are the pharmaceutical companies that poison our citizenry for profit. It’s time we put a stop to this.

Children are reaching the age of 3 without being able to say a word, according to a survey that also found boys are almost twice as likely to struggle to learn to speak as girls.

The average age for a baby to speak their first word is 10 to 11 months. However, a significant minority (4 per cent) of parents reported that their child said nothing until they were 3.

Toddlers between the ages of 2 and 3 should be able to use up to 300 words, including adjectives, and be able to link words together, according to I CAN, the children’s communication charity. Late speech development can lead to problems, such as low achievement at school or mental health problems.

The survey of more than 1,000 parents found that a child’s background was not a factor in how quickly they learnt to talk. Working parents who put their babies in day care are just as likely to have a child whose speech develops late as those who leave their baby in front of the television.

Virginia Beardshaw, the chief executive of I CAN, said that learning to talk required help and encouragement. “We know there is a golden period for developing children’s communication between 0 and 5 and that early intervention is vital if children are struggling,” she said. “Chatting to your child, playing word games, pointing things out and having fun together every day all give your child the right start to communication.”

Parents should interact as much as possible, reading stories and talking to their children to encourage them to start talking, speech therapists advise. They say that dummies should only be resorted to at bedtime so children are free to make sounds and form words during the day.

More girls than boys (34 per cent against 27 per cent) said their first word before they reached nine months, the YouGov poll of 1,015 parents of children aged 1 to 7 found.

Almost one in six parents reported that their child had problems learning to talk. Among parents of boys the figure rose to one in four.

The vast majority (95 per cent) of parents remembered their child’s first word. The most common was “Dadda” (15 per cent), with 10 per cent saying “Mama” first. Besides parental names the top word was “cat”, followed by “car” and “no”. Some more unusual choices were “beer”, “gadget”, “hoover” and even “tits-up”.

Girls were quicker to join words together, with more than 20 per cent having done so by the age of 1, compared to 16 per cent of boys. Almost one quarter of those who had problems learning to talk did not receive any help from a speech and language therapist, nursery or playgroup staff.

Jean Gross, the Government’s new adviser on childhood language development, said that it was a real problem that children as old as 3 were unable to talk. “It has lifelong effects for children in terms of their ability to learn to read and write,” she said.

Ms Gross said childhood health targets were too focused on obesity levels and immunisation rates at the expense of more subtle difficulties.

All of those surveyed last month reported looking at picture books with their child, telling stories, playing word games and singing nursery rhymes, with boys and girls enjoying these activities equally and at a similar age.

However, children from more affluent families were said to enjoy doing so at a younger age than children from less affluent families.

Eighty per cent of parents knew that the correct response if their child mispronounced a word was to repeat it back to them in the correct way.

Case study: ‘He’s now chatty and sociable’

Lee Rose reached the age of 3 able to say only five words. His parents were not worried. “I had no other children to compare him with and his father was a late talker,” said Emma Rose, from Plymouth.

Doctors and health visitors did not pick up the problem. It was not until Lee’s nursery teachers noticed that he lashed out at another child in frustration that concerns were raised. After an assessment he was referred to an I CAN centre — a mainstream nursery school with a specialist speech and language department and a support group for parents.

Lee spent 12 months at the centre. “It was the one-to-one help that he needed and early intervention,” said Mrs Rose. Now 8, he is in the top group for all his lessons at primary school. “They have turned my little boy’s life around. He is chatty, sociable and has lots of friends.” Mrs Rose, 39, a former hospital technician, is retraining as a speech and language assistant.

Wow… Congratulations Julie! Who would have guessed that you would be the one person in the whole world that Merck would want to head their vaccine division?

Oh… that is right… we did.

Julie’s years of “looking and looking” for a vaccine/autism connection with the firm resolve of OJ Simpson looking for the real killers, asinine statements on autism in the press and denialism of an epidemic happening in front of everyone’s eyes has finally paid off big for her.

Here is what we do know now… that the head of vaccines for Merck is a liar. And one who tells absurd lies and thinks that people will swallow them. In the age of vaccine skepticism, Merck was so concerned with winning the public trust that they hired the woman who was the at the helm of the autism epidemic for the last eight years.

Brilliant.

But I am guessing that deal with the devil was made long ago.

There is no one whose actions I have had more contempt for in this health disaster than Julie Gerberding. My son regressed into autism following his vaccines on her watch. I became increasingly incensed by her actions, non-actions and thinly veiled vaccine salesmanship as the years rolled on; but I don’t think down deep that even I actually believed that out of all the positions in the world she would take THE job with THE company that would truly prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that she was working for PHARMA at the expense of our kids since Bush appointed her as CDC head. If for no other reason out of embarrassment for what it would betray about her.

The woman has no shame.

The position is announced Christmas week, I guess hoping that mom’s like me will be too busy trying to keep their kids with autism from eating the glass balls off the yule tree to notice. The usefulness of chelation therapy for the remission of symptoms caused by previous treatment with mercury-containing pharmaceuticals: a case report

“The studies published today reinforce the shortcomings of our efforts to control influenza,” wrote Dr. Guan Yi, a virologist at the University of Hong Kong, in an editorial that accompanied the papers. The two studies were published early online by the British medical journal, the Lancet, because of their implications for the upcoming flu season.

In one paper, international researchers analyzed all the data from patient studies on the flu vaccine performed worldwide in the past 37 years and discovered that vaccines showed at best a “modest” ability to prevent influenza or its complications in elderly people.

“The runaway 100 percent effectiveness that’s touted by proponents was nowhere to be seen,” said Tom Jefferson, a Rome-based researcher with the Cochrane Vaccine Fields project, an international consortium of scientists who perform systematic reviews of research data.

“There is a wild overestimation of the impact of these vaccines in the community,” Dr. Jefferson said. “In the case of a pandemic, we are unsure from the data whether these vaccines would work on the elderly.”

In the second paper, researchers from the Centers for Disease Control found that influenza viruses, particularly those from the dreaded bird flu strain, had developed high rates of resistance to older and cheaper antiviral drugs - rates that have escalated rapidly since 2003, particularly in Asia.

“We were alarmed to find such a dramatic increase in drug resistance in circulating human influenza viruses in recent years,” said Dr. Rick Bright of the Centers for Disease Control, in Atlanta. “Our report has broad implications for agencies and governments planning to stockpile these drugs for epidemic and pandemic strains of influenza.”

Before 2000, almost no virus was resistant to the drug Amantadine. By 2004, 15 percent of influenza A viruses collected in South Korea, 70 percent in Hong Kong and 74 percent in China were impervious. During the first six months of 2005, 15 percent of the influenza A viruses in the United States were resistant, up from 2 percent the year before. All human cases of the bird flu (H5N1) strain - which is still extremely rare in humans - have been resistant, the researchers said.

The immediate implications of these finding are most ominous for the developing world, because wealthier nations have been stockpiling newer and vastly more expensive antiviral medicines, like Tamiflu, which are effective against the disease but still on patent.

Even so, the research is alarming because it demonstrates how quickly and unexpectedly flu viruses can become impervious to medicines once they are put into common use, as they would be in the case of a pandemic. Also, at their best, antiviral medicines do not cure influenza. They cut down on transmission of the disease and reduce somewhat the symptoms and complications in those already infected, including the high rate of associated pneumonias.

Called for comment, a spokesman for the World Health Organization, Dick Thompson, said that the group could neither support nor deny the findings of the analysis of vaccine studies at this point, noting only that some experts criticized the researchers for “not including some important past studies” in their sample.

But the problem of resistance “is a finding that is being discussed widely within the flu world and will bear careful monitoring,” Mr. Thompson said, noting that he was not aware of any country in the developing world that had been able to stockpile the newer drugs.

Anticipating a possible flu pandemic caused by a variant of the bird flu virus - which belongs to the influenza A group - countries have been aggressively buying up antiviral medicines and contracting to purchase a flu vaccine against that strain, even though it is still under development.

The United States has ordered $100 million worth of vaccine and Italy $43 million worth, for example.

The current bird flu virus does not spread easily - if at all - from human to human, and so has little potential to become a worldwide human scourge. But the World Health Organization has warned that it could acquire that potential through a couple of common biological processes, and that countries should prepare for a possible wave of serious influenza.

The fact that the current study showed that flu vaccines have had only a modest effect in the elderly is particularly worrisome, since this a group that tends to suffer high rates of complications and deaths from the disease and vaccination is currently standard practice. In people over 65, the vaccines “are apparently ineffective” in the prevention of influenza, pneumonia and hospital admissions, although they did reduce deaths from pneumonia by “up to 30 per cent.”

“What you see is that marketing rules the response to influenza, and scientific evidence comes fourth or fifth,” Dr. Jefferson said. “Vaccines may have a role, but they appear to have a modest effect. The best strategy to prevent the illness is to wash your hands.”

The research showed, however, that vaccines offered better protection in nursing home patients, who suffered significantly lower rates of complications like pneumonia if inoculated.

In terms of antiviral drugs, 30 countries have placed huge orders for Tamiflu, the most popular, newer, more expensive antiviral medicine, a spokesman for Roche Martina Rupp, said. The company is offering it at a “substantial discount” for public health purchases. The Dutch Health Ministry has ordered 5 million doses, enough to treat one-third of the population. The British Department of Health has ordered supplies to treat 15 million.

Ms. Rupp would not give either the retail or the discounted price, although pharmacists said a full course of the drug costs more than $100.

Researchers speculate that one reason why resistance rates to the older, cheaper antiviral drugs in Asia jumped so much starting in 2000 - and skyrocketed after 2002 - is that doctors there started prescribing the drugs far more widely after the advent of bird flu in 1997 and of sudden acute respiratory syndrome, or SARS, in 2002.

Although actual human cases of these two diseases have always been rare, they are also quite deadly, so patients are sometimes started on antiviral drugs when they develop a respiratory illness, even though in most cases they will prove to have nothing more than a common cold.

This is because all antiviral medicines work only if they are started within 48 hours of the onset of symptoms and, in that period, it is generally impossible to tell if patients have a deadly strain of flu or merely a mild virus.

Science dictates that only a randomized double-blind, placebo-controlled study can generate unbiased results in any clinical trial. In the history of vaccine development, no such study has ever been performed. It is only unscientific opinions and pharmaceutical propaganda which have propelled the mythological validity, safety and effectiveness of vaccines. Dozens of controlled studies have scientifically verified the immunotoxicty, neurotoxicity and sterility of common vaccine ingredients which destroy human health, yet they are all ignored by conventional medicine.

The Center examined the neuroscientific dynamics of logic and emotion in decision making while researching neuroscience in business. They found unique corollary relationships between various brain chemicals (neurohormones, neurotransmitters, etc.). This apparent pattern led to a new path of research for the team outside of business. By looking at extensive scientific literature they discovered a cascade of hormones that emanate from the brain (hypothalamus). This same pattern of correlations was again apparent throughout the cascade. The group added a research biologist and started to test the pattern on genes (proteins). It remained consistent. The Center then called upon advisors from chemistry and physics to see if the pattern would apply in physical sciences.

To the amazement of the group, it became apparent that this pattern of corollary relationships could be applied to scientific processes for maintaining equilibrium (homeostatic relationships) throughout all of science; from subatomic particles to chemistry as well as between biological substances.

While the entire scientific community knows that homeostasis exists, this tacit knowledge has not been converted into a step-by-step, replicable model. The Center identified precisely such an explicit process.

Challenged by several of The Center’s advisors, members of the team decided to test the efficacy of the model to determine if the disruptions that cause autism could be identified.

After careful review of countless scientific studies, meeting with several renowned scientists to discuss their findings, and then applying the modeling process to numerous hypotheses, The Center’s Life Sciences group was able to formulate a scientifically verifiable model for the highly probable causal path of autism. Through the application of their model, it became apparent that autism is an outcome of several variables that, when the homeostatic relationship of each one is disrupted, a “perfect storm” scenario results in autism. The application of the model identified several of the variables that account for why boys have a 4 to 1 ratio of instances over girls as well as why not every boy is affected.

While the scientific community will have to validate The Center’s findings, the model for assessing homeostatic relationships indicates the “trigger” behind autism is an imbalance between a pair of amino acid neurotransmitters; glutamate and glycine.

According to The Center’s founder, William McFaul, a retired business person and not a member of the scientific community, “Because of its universal applicability, our Life Sciences group has already used the model as a tool to identify highly probable causal paths for several illnesses and disease entities. Autism was one of most difficult illnesses The Center had attempted to analyze. If it hadn’t been for so many parents insisting that vaccines were responsible for the condition, we might never have found the fact that the stabilizer in MMR and a few other vaccines is hydrolyzed gelatin; a substance that is approximately 21% glycine. It appears that, based on readily verifiable science, the use of that form of glycine triggers an imbalance between the amino acid neurotransmitters responsible for the absorption rate of certain classes of cells throughout the body. It is that wide-spread disruption that apparently results in the systemic problems that encompass the mind and the body characterized in today’s ‘classic’ autism.” He also added, “The use of our model indicates each of the disorders within Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is attributable to different disruptions in homeostasis. We look forward to sharing our findings relative to each disorder with the scientific community.”

According to Linda Oliver-Perrier, The Center’s spokesperson for their Life Sciences group, “The details of the disruptive process are somewhat complex and not conducive for explanation in a press release. Is the swine flu vaccine safe? Only a small portion of the population has been vaccinated in most areas so far, and yet already there is an avalanche of reports of adverse reactions to the H1N1 swine flu vaccine. (NaturalNews) When you publish a hard-hitting story containing links to lots of little-known documents, you never know what kind of bizarre blow-back you’ll receive. The latest episode of reactive strangeness occurred following our publication of the story about SIGA Technologies and the conflicts of interest found in Dr. Mehmet Oz’s holding of 150,000 option shares in that company (http://www.naturalnews.com/027451_D…) even while pushing vaccines on TV. Shortly after publishing this article, NaturalNews was contacted by a public relations firm called KCSA Strategic Communications, which represents SIGA as an “investor relations counsel.” (http://www.reuters.com/article/pres…)

The Vice-President of this P.R. company rather forcefully informed us that SIGA Technologies had no involvement with vaccines, and that our reporting of such a false statement was potentially “libelous.” They demanded we retract parts of our original story to eliminate any idea that SIGA was involved in vaccines in any way.

That’s funny, I thought to myself, because in researching the story, I remember very clearly reading the title of this company’s own home page, which reads, exactly:

Smallpox Antiviral, Drug Development and Vaccine Development - SIGA Human BioArmor

This is found in the title tag of their home page, www.Siga.com – or at least it was as of this writing. (They will likely change the title as soon as this story hits the ‘net, but I saved a copy for safekeeping.)

I don’t know about you, but when I read the title of some company’s web page, and it says, “Vaccine Development” in plain English, I sort of figure the company must be involved in — guess what? — vaccine development!

But no, I was told. That’s completely wrong. SIGA Technologies had nothing to do with vaccine development. They only make anti-virals, we were told. Nothing to do with vaccines. Nothing. Nada.

So I took a moment to search a little deeper into their home page, and within less than five seconds, I found these keywords in their meta keywords tag:

Smallpox Antiviral, Smallpox Drug Development, Smallpox Vaccine Development, Infectious Disease Development, Biological Warfare Terrorism… [and so on]

Now, maybe I’m just seeing things because I haven’t yet been vaccinated against H1N1, so perhaps I’m suffering from double vision or something, but when I see “Smallpox Vaccine Development” in a company’s home page title tags, I sort of figure that company is somehow involved in — wait for it — smallpox vaccine development!

But no. The P.R. consultant for this company said I was totally off base, and that they had nothing whatsoever to do with vaccine development. The exact quote we were given on the phone was, “SIGA Technologies has nothing to do with vaccines…”

Well, maybe not, except for the fact that they claim to develop them right on their home page.

Crowdsourcing more research
In any case, I wasn’t waiting around for these people to get their story straight, so I went to my Facebook page (http://facebook.naturalnews.com) where really cool NaturalNews fans hang out and discuss important subjects, and I posed this question to them: “Hey, this company SIGA is claiming they have nothing to do with vaccines. Can you find any additional documents demonstrating they do?”

This “homework assignment” was deemed altogether too easy for the NaturalNews Facebook crowd. It took them mere minutes to come up with all sorts of additional documents proving beyond all doubt SIGA Technologies’ involvement in vaccine development.

For example, they found this description of SIGA Technologies on Hoovers.com (http://www.hoovers.com/siga-technol…), a Dunn & Bradstreet company, which says: (emphasis added)

“SIGA Technologies is trying to put itself on the front lines of US biodefense efforts. The drug company has a number of development programs for vaccines, antivirals, and antibiotics for drug resistant infections; however, its main focus is on vaccines for bio-defense. The company’s smallpox vaccine ST-246, which is intended both to prevent and treat the disease, has received Fast Track and Orphan Drug designations from the FDA. SIGA is also developing vaccines for use against hemorrhagic fevers and other infectious diseases and biothreats.”

NaturalNews Facebook team members also discovered this Yahoo Finance link (http://finance.yahoo.com/q/pr?s=SIGA) which describes SIGA Technologies as “…a biotechnology company [that] engages in the discovery, development, and commercialization of anti-infectives, antibiotics, and vaccines for the prevention and treatment of serious infectious diseases.”

Continuing with the financial research, this company profile at Morningstar.com (one of the leading financial ratings companies) describes SIGA Technologies as “…developing vaccines that may prevent strep throat and periodontal disease.”

Our Facebook group also found this quote from Bloomberg.com, which describes SIGA as follows: (http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/quote…)

“SIGA Technologies, Inc. discovers and develops vaccines and antibiotics for the prevention and treatment of a wide variety of infectious diseases.

Once again, I don’t know about you, but when I read that a company “develops vaccines and antibiotics,” I sort of figure that those words mean… well, the company develops vaccines and antibiotics. The point of using words, after all, is that they carry some sort of consistent meaning so that when person A says “vaccines” then person B can magically hear “vaccines” and understand what’s trying to be communicated.

But maybe SIGA operates in an alternate universe where the word “vaccines” doesn’t mean “vaccines” and instead means the opposite of vaccines. Sort of like vaccine antimatter.

Maybe they’re developing vaccines in conjunction with the physicists at the Large Hadron Collider, accelerating and smashing vaccine materials in order to find Dark Matter Vaccines that don’t exist, and that’s what they were really talking about. So when their P.R. person said they were NOT developing vaccines, maybe she really meant they were developing “NOT vaccines.” (Get it? Like antimatter vaccines…)

It’s tricky to deconstruct their claims, actually. As a bit of a linguist myself, I like to think that words convey fairly consistent meaning, but this SIGA public relations rep was essentially telling me that “vaccine development” doesn’t really mean vaccine development. It’s difficult to talk to people when they keep changing the definitions of the words they use.

Vaccines, vaccines and more vaccines
About this time, the research results from the Facebook group really started to pour in (yes, what we’ve printed above is just a fraction of the links we received from Facebook members).

We received these links about SIGA Pharmaceuticals being involved in vaccine patents with the U.S. Army (http://www.encyclopedia.com/doc/1G1…), and how they developed a cancer vaccine (http://www.encyclopedia.com/doc/1G1…), and how they have an amazing new vaccine delivery system (http://www.encyclopedia.com/doc/1G1…). The headline of that story is, “SIGA Technologies Reports Successful Trials for Vaccine Delivery System.”

SIGA even received a $3 million research grant from the NIH just two months ago (http://www.globenewswire.com/newsro…). This award is described with the news headline, “Company to Research ST-246 as a Treatment for Adverse Reaction to Smallpox Vaccine.” That announcement goes on to describe how ST-246 is used “as an adjunct to the current smallpox vaccine for prevention of smallpox vaccine-related adverse events.”

Another press release from 2003 declares, “SIGA Technologies, Inc. Signs Definitive Agreement to Acquire Assets of Plexus Vaccine Inc.” (http://www.accessmylibrary.com/coms…). This indicates, of course, that SIGA acquired assets of a vaccine company, and those assets — I’m just taking a wild guess here — probably have something to do with vaccines.

A search on SIGA Technologies’ corporate officers (http://www.reuters.com/finance/stoc…) reveals that the company’s Vice President and Chief Scientific Officer, Dr. Dennis E. Hruby, “…specializes in virology and cell biology research, and the use of viral and bacterial vectors to produce recombinant vaccines.”

Here’s an announcement from 2004, bragging about how high SIGA’s stock price has surged due to its smallpox vaccine. From the press release: “The stock of SIGA Technologies Inc. soared Monday after the biotechnology company reported favorable results for a trial of its smallpox vaccine on mice.” (http://www.accessmylibrary.com/coms…)

That same year, a Marketwatch.com article (http://www.marketwatch.com/story/si…) announces that “Shares of SIGA Technologies rose more than 7 percent… The company said it was named as the prime contractor by the U.S. Air Force to create systems to develop vaccines and therapeutics…”

And then there’s SIGA’s patent. As this BusinessWire story announces [emphasis added], “SIGA Pharmaceuticals, Inc. announced today that a United States patent covering its strep throat vaccine technology has been granted to The Rockefeller University. SIGA is the exclusive licensee to the patent.” (http://www.accessmylibrary.com/arti…).

The actual patent text from 2001 (click here to read) cites SIGA Vice President Dennis E. Hruby as one of the inventors. It includes 18 mentions of the word “vaccine” and is all about vaccine-related technologies and processes.

As you can see for yourself — and there’s much more to come, below — for SIGA to claim they don’t have anything to do with vaccines is sort of like PepsiCo claiming they don’t have anything to do with soft drinks.

SIGA admits to vaccine development in SEC filing

It gets even better. We’ve barely scratched the surface of all the fascinating documents to be found on SIGA Technologies and their vaccine research project.

In this document, they admit in plain English:

“SIGA is a development stage biotechnology company incorporated in Delaware on December 9, 1996. We aim to discover, develop and commercialize vaccines, antibiotics and novel anti-infectives for serious infectious diseases. Our lead vaccine candidate is for the prevention of group A streptococcal pharyngitis or “strep throat.” We are developing a technology for the mucosal delivery of our vaccines which may allow those vaccines to activate the immune system at the mucus lined surfaces of the body…”

And then, in another section entitled, “Vaccine Technologies: Mucosal Immunity and Vaccine Delivery,” SIGA Technologies goes on to explain:

“Our vaccine candidates use genetically engineered commensals to deliver antigens for a variety of pathogens to the mucosal immune system… Our commensal vaccine candidates use Gram-positive bacteria… We believe that mucosal vaccines developed using our proprietary commensal delivery technology could provide a number of advantages…”

I won’t bore you with all the sentences in which SIGA Technologies discusses vaccines in their 2003 SEC filing document. Suffice it to say that I counted the number of times the word “vaccine” appears in the document, and it comes to a grand total of 105.

And just in case you think this particular document is some sort of fluke (or was planted there by the SEC in a conspiracy to fool the world into mistakenly thinking SIGA is involved in vaccine development), here’s another SEC filing that includes this interesting sentence: (http://files.shareholder.com/downlo…)

“SIGA Technologies, Inc. is a development stage company with interests in biotechnology and the Internet. Siga Research Labs, (SRL), our biotechnology division, is focused on the discovery, development and commercialization of vaccines, antibiotics and novel anti-infectives for serious infectious diseases. SRL’s lead vaccine candidate is for the prevention of group A streptococcal pharyngitis or ’strep throat.’”

If you want more examples (believe me, there are hundreds), here’s a page from EvaluatePharma.com (a research site for the biotech sector) (http://www.evaluatepharma.com/Unive…) which details SIGA’s financials for 2006, 2007 and 2008, then goes on to describe SIGA Technologies as having a “Chlamydia Trachomatis Vaccine Program”, a “Periodontal Vaccine”, a “Smallpox Vaccine Program” and a “Strep Throat Vaccine.”

Again and again… vaccines!

The funny thing is that these published news stories, press releases, research documents and SEC filings all have two words in common: SIGA and Vaccines. There’s that pesky word again… vaccines. It just won’t go away when you’re researching SIGA. In fact, it strangely shows up with a very high frequency for a company that so adamantly claims to have nothing at all to do with vaccines.

Their denials just boggle the mind. It sort of reminds me of President Clinton’s slicing and dicing of the English language in the midst of the Lewinsky saga when he actually questioned what the meaning of the word “is” was. (Classic, huh? Gotta hand it to him…)

So we asked the P.R. rep about this, and she actually tells us — get this — that “There is no SIGA Pharmaceuticals… only SIGA Technologies!”

Sort of like “there is no spoon” from The Matrix. That’s when I pointed out this link that explains SIGA Pharmaceuticals changed their name to SIGA Technologies: http://findarticles.com/p/articles/…

The headline reads, “SIGA Pharmaceuticals Changes Name to SIGA Technologies.”

It’s fairly straightforward. Not much wiggle room in that statement.

The P.R. rep kept talking. She said that SIGA underwent a management change way back in 2001 and since then they haven’t been involved in vaccines.

Plain English translation
Got that? No vaccines since 2001. So why, then, do we find all these articles from 2003 and 2004 talking about vaccines? Case in point: An article in 2003 declares, “SIGA Technologies, Inc. Announces Positive Results in Safe Smallpox Vaccine Development.” (http://www.highbeam.com/doc/1G1-100…)

The SEC document cited above (http://investor.siga.com/secfiling….), which says, ” We aim to discover, develop and commercialize vaccines, antibiotics and novel anti-infectives for serious infectious diseases. Our lead vaccine candidate is for the prevention of group A streptococcal pharyngitis…” was filed in 2003!

Importantly, note that these documents are all written in plain English. The words “Smallpox Vaccine Development” actually mean in English, believe it or not, “Smallpox Vaccine Development.”

I know this for a fact because I went to the Google translation tool (http://translate.google.com/transla…), and chose an English-to-English translation, then pasted in the words “Smallpox Vaccine Development.”

Astoundingly, the translation results came back as “Smallpox Vaccine Development.” (http://translate.google.com/transla…)

This same Google tool also verifies that the word “vaccines” translates to, exactly, “vaccines.”

At one point, we were so amazed by the insistent denials from SIGA’s public relations firm that we just had to come out and ask the obvious question: “Do you categorically deny that SIGA Technologies has no involvement with vaccines?”

Their answer? They hung up on us.

Strange matter and not-so-clever denials
I’m not sure if the hanging up part was a yes or a no. In fact, I’m not even sure the P.R. rep we were talking to has any idea what their client actually does. It’s one thing to say, “Well, we disagree with your article and we’d like to submit a rebuttal” or something along those lines (which we have published from time to time, depending on the request), but it seems completely outlandish out to call us up and claim the company in question has nothing whatsoever to do with vaccines when “vaccine development” is right there on the home page, in perhaps the most important piece of text on any home page — the title!

The whole thing really left me wondering: What’s the real story here? Why would they lie about this?

Seriously. What’s so important about distancing themselves from the vaccine projects they have obviously been involved with that they would be so insistent in their denials?

It reminds me of a child who just stole cookies out of the cookie jar, and you spot them in the kitchen with their hands behind their back and cookie crumbs on their lips, and you ask, “Have you been eating cookies?” And they say, “No. Not me.” So you ask, “Do you know why the cookies are missing from the cookie jar?” and they answer, with an expression of sudden revelation, “Maybe someone took them!”

Let’s imagine for a moment that SIGA Technologies doesn’t research vaccines. But then why would they lie on their home page and say they do? Why would they file a report with the SEC claiming they’re developing vaccines? Why would press releases, announcements and articles across the ‘net explain that SIGA was involved in vaccine patents, vaccine testing, vaccine company acquisitions, vaccine research and vaccine technologies?

Here’s an even better question: Why make a story out of a non-story by issuing a thinly-veiled denial that can be proven wrong in 8 minutes searching around on Google? I really had nothing more to write about SIGA Technologies until this denial came our way. It was the denial that made the story. Without the bizarre denial… no story!

In my years as NaturalNews editor, I’ve received some whacky phone calls. I’ve been threatened with lawsuits and attacked by hackers. I was even impersonated once by some goon trying to break into the NaturalNews offices. But I’ve never had a company’s P.R. firm call me up and point blank lie to my face with such a flimsy, hilarious lie.

SIGA Technologies needs to get their story straight. If they really have absolutely nothing to do with vaccines, why wouldn’t they just email us a statement containing these 8 simple words: “We categorically deny any involvement with vaccines or vaccine technologies.” (The mathematically inclined among you will notice there are actually ten words in that sentence. But out of respect to SIGA Technologies, we’re not counting “vaccine” or “vaccines.”)

I sent them an email, by the way, asking these three simple questions:

1) Will you categorically deny any involvement with vaccines?

2) If so, when did SIGA’s involvement with vaccines end?

3) Does SIGA have any plans to be involved with vaccines in the future?

The answer to these three questions? Nothing. Zip. Nada.

This is how the vaccine industry works, by the way: When anyone starts to ask questions, just shut them up and cut off all communication. If there’s one thing I’ve learned in my years as a natural health journalist, it’s that asking questions about vaccines is a dangerous business. There are simply too many secrets in the vaccine industry that certain companies don’t want made public.

But that’s my job: To ask questions. To think critically. To demand some answers on behalf of NaturalNews readers. And to ask for help from the NaturalNews Facebook crowdsourcing team, too, because they’re great at coming up with amazing information.

We were told — get this — that we could talk to their “investor relations” people. Yep… the very same people who had already hung up on us once before.

And then you did something even dumber - you got a H1N1 vaccine on your show “because your employment in NY depends on it” - but you failed to mention that this was dropped in NY, didn’t you? It seems that one-sided information is running rampant on your show these days, isn’t it?

But with the recent news of you holding 150,000 shares in a company that is related to the vaccine field, I am no longer surprised at your actions and the propaganda you have put forward on your show. Shame on you, Dr Oz, you charm the world with your enthusiasm for good health and then you sucker those who trust you into getting vaccines which could potentially do more harm than good.

And then, that company tries to deny it has any tie to the vaccine field. Of course it did. But that was a lie.
Facebook crowdsourced investigation exposes vaccine denials of SIGA Technologies

(NaturalNews) Dr. Mehmet Oz is a huge promoter of vaccines. He’s been on television reinforcing fear about H1N1 swine flu and telling everyone to get vaccinated. But what he didn’t tell his viewing audience is that he holds 150,000 option shares in a vaccine company that could earn him millions of dollars in profits as the stock price rises. It is in Dr. Oz’s own financial interest, in other words, to hype up vaccines and get more people taking them so that his own financial investments rise in value.

Evidence describing these facts was delivered to NaturalNews by a private investigator named Joseph Culligan (http://www.josephculligan.com). That evidence includes an SEC document detailing how Dr. Oz. bought options on stocks for SIGA Technologies in 2005, 2007, 2008 and 2009. SIGA Technologies (stock symbol SIGA) is a vaccine technology company with many advanced developments whose success depends on the widespread adoption of vaccines. According to SEC documents, Dr. Mehmet Oz. currently holds 150,000 option shares on SIGA Technologies, purchased for as little as $1.35 back in 2005.

At the time of this writing, SIGA Technologies is trading at $7.10, making those options bought in 2005 worth $5.75 in profits today. If all the 150,000 options purchased by Dr. Oz. were exercised today, they would be worth roughly $180,000 in profits (they were bought at different prices, not all at $1.35). This is all revealed in what the SEC website calls an “insider transaction” document (link below).

If the stock price of SIGA Technologies could be pumped up even more — say, from someone hyping up vaccines in front of a national audience — these options could mathematically be worth millions of dollars.

Dr. Oz. isn’t merely a holder of SIGA stock options, by the way: He’s on the Board of Directors! As SIGA’s own website explains, Dr. Oz has served on the board since 2001 and continues his role there today. This brings up the obvious question:

Is it right for someone talking about whether vaccines are safe on television to also be carrying stock options and serving on the board of directors of a vaccine company at the same time?

Ms. Wallace’s piece is, in fact, a glowing portrayal of one man, Paul Offit, and his relentless pursuit of the idea that vaccines simply cannot have anything to do with the autism epidemic, since the autism epidemic doesn’t even exist, and vaccines have been proven not to cause autism, and vaccines are much more good than bad, so let’s get on with it already.

As someone who has studied Mr. Offit’s talking points closely for the past 5 years, I was struck by how closely Amy Wallace seemed to echo the points that Offit frequently makes in both the press and medical journals, not only on the specific scientific questions that have and haven’t been answered surrounding many aspects of autism, but even on the more psychoanalytical questions surrounding WHY parents do the things they do (like avoid vaccines). In fact, I can’t find a single original thought or idea in the article from Ms. Wallace that I haven’t previously heard Paul Offit say, nor a single case where her ideas appear to deviate or disagree with any of the positions he takes or has taken in the past: Amy Wallace and Mr. Offit appear to be in perfect harmony.

Ms. Wallace also violates, quite clearly, her own ruminations (which I have heard Offit discuss before) about the reticence required in discourse and debate by true “scientists” that us non-scientists don’t have to abide by: “But researchers, alas, can’t respond with the same forceful certainty that the doubters are able to deploy — not if they’re going to follow the rules of science.” As you will see in a moment, Ms. Wallace’s writing is in fact filled with this “forceful certainty”, starting with the cover of Wired Magazine that states, quite forcefully and most certainly, “Vaccines Don’t Cause Autism.”

You see, Ms. Wallace gives the reader the strong impression that she is one of them, the scientists, someone who knows what the science does and doesn’t say and who knows that this silly debate — that vaccines may cause autism — is a debate who’s time has past, because, you know, the science shows us that.

One of the oddest things about Ms. Wallace’s article is the characters she allows into the debate to highlight the two sides of this conflict and tell her story. In one corner, and the corner where she spends most of her time, is Paul Offit, a doctor. He is joined by “science”, an omnipotent force, and a force that in Ms. Wallace’s world always agrees with Offit’s points (and hers, since they’re the same points). In the other corner, the corner that us lowly anti-vaccinationists have been relegated to, she shows only civilian parents: Jenny McCarthy, Barbara Loe Fisher, and Curt Linderman. Three parents. No doctors. No scientists. Like the NY Times, it’s parents vs. research. Where’s our science? In the world Amy Wallace creates, it doesn’t exist.

When it comes to facts, particularly the facts that matter most in the debate over autism, I believe Ms. Wallace fails miserably, and in many cases she simply states things that are unsupportable or quite simple to prove as untrue. I hope that this discourse, by focusing on the very specific things that Ms. Wallace wrote and the ACTUAL state of science in the autism world, will cause Ms. Wallace to correct her one-sided article, so that parents who read Wired Magazine will have a more accurate portrayal of the current reality of our understanding of autism.

Ms. Wallace’s first, and most glaring failure of fact has to do with the initial fork in the road in the autism debate, the question as to whether or not autism is genetic. Co-mingled with the question of the genetic origin of autism is the question of whether or not the prevalence of autism is truly on the rise. These two questions, which tend to move in tandem, affect everything else about the understanding of autism. If autism is genetic, then it’s always been with us. If it’s always been with us, then there’s no reason for alarm, these kids have always been here, just as they are right now. For parents, just accept it, do your ABA, and give your kids the best possible life they can live, they’ll always have autism.

On the other hand, if autism is NOT genetic, but rather a product of the environment, than the prevalence numbers that are REPORTEDLY up are also TRULY up, and we have a massive problem on our hands, because then something somewhere is CAUSING autism in children who may otherwise not have it. And, if something is causing autism, we damn well better figure out what it is. And, if we figure out what it is then maybe, just maybe, we can try to reverse whatever damage it caused in our children.

So, the facts around these two relatively straightforward points – genetics and true prevalence – mean positively everything in the autism debate.

Where does Ms. Wallace fall on these two points? It’s not hard to guess.

This past Friday night, I took Nicholas grocery shopping. He did not want to sit in the cart - he doesn’t anymore actually. He says the bars hurt his butt. Anyway, we walked around shopping - he talked to me, picked out stuff, put it in the cart and was a perfect little boy. I did not have to carry a tantruming child out of the store. I did not get home with a pounding stress headache. He helped put the groceries on the belt and waited while I paid. I did not have to hold his hand at all - the entire time.

This past Sunday, I took him to go buy a new pair of sneakers. We parked about three blocks away from the store (we parked off of the middle of town where all of the shops are in a pretty big town center.) So, we had to walk to the shoe store and cross 2 pretty busy streets. At times, Nicholas was either next to me or behind me. I did not have to hold his hand with the death grip. You know, the grip you use when you fear your child is going to run into the street and get hit by a car. He walked with me, we talked about things he saw and pointed out and he listened to directions well. We got into the shoe store and had to wait about 20 minutes as they were very busy. He sat and waited patiently the entire time. When the sales person came to measure his feet, he followed directions without having to be asked repeatedly. When I asked him to walk around and tell me how his shoes felt, he did and he came right back on his own. We paid and left and on the way back to the car, we passed a bakery. He said we should go buy a cake so he opened the door and held it open for me. He helped pick out a cake and asked if he could buy an elmo cupcake. We bought the cake and cupcake and headed back to the car. If that’s not a typical child, I don’t know what is!

He ate the Elmo cupcake after dinner - which was surprising because he usually won’t eat stuff like this. But he did and he loved it.

It’s so refreshing to be able to take him places and do things no matter how trivial they are.

Concern has been raised over the link between exposure to heavy metal toxins and neurological brain damage associated with learning and behavioral disorders in children. Friday, he had his school Halloween parade and party. We went to watch the parade and this year, we could tell Nicholas was looking for us in the crowd. The past 2 years, he never looked for us and if he saw us, he’d not want to continue walking. This year, his face lit up as soon as he saw us and he finished the parade rather excitedly. We followed his class inside for the party and Nicholas was very excited to show us things in his classroom like his tree that he’s taking care of. When it was time for the class to sing their song, Five Little Pumpkins, Nicholas joined in, sang along with everyone else (he knew the words!) and did all the hand movements! In the past, for holiday parties, Nicholas was never really interested in participating in things like this. Nicholas seems to be friends with all of the kids in his class - and there are two girls in his class which it’s not hard to see really adore him. Nicholas stood really well to have his picture taken with his class, teacher and classmates.

Today, as soon as the first child rang the doorbell, Nicholas wanted to go Trick or Treating. So we threw on part of his costume (it was very warm out today) and we were off. We met up with some other neighborhood kids and all went around together. Nicholas was one of the pack and was having the time of his life running from house to house with the other kids. He was thoughtful about the 2 year old who was lagging behind and wanted to make sure he was included with the rest. Nicholas always said “trick or treat” and made sure to say “thank you” when they gave him candy. When we got home, he was excited to show everyone his loot - and spent the rest of the afternoon handing out candy everytime the doorbell rang. He wished everyone a Happy Halloween and was very cute handing out the candy.

This was much, much different from last year. We didn’t trick or treat by ourselves. We walked for quite some time before he got bored and wanted to go home - and if his feet didn’t start hurting (that’s how far we walked), then I am sure we would have gone farther. He didn’t have to be coached on what to do - he just followed all the other kids. He actually wanted to go, no asking him, no coercing him, the kids were doing it and he wanted to go with the kids too. It started to rain and he didn’t care. He didn’t even care about the candy (he’s not a big candy kid) - he just wanted to go out and have fun with the other kids.

Paul Offit wrote a book, Autism’s False Prophets, with the overt goal of repudiating the biomedical treatment movement for autism. Of course, the real goal of the book, and how it’s being used today, is to convince parents to keep on vaccinating.

As an inventor of the Rotateq (HERE) vaccine, a man who voted his own vaccine (HERE) onto the childhood schedule, and a multi-millionaire after his vaccine was sold to Merck, Offit has plenty of time on his hands to protect his legacy and the legacy of his peers.

The AAP has done a great job of getting Offit’s book out to their pediatric base, many of whom give the book to parents when they express concerns about vaccination. I have personal friends who have come home from their doctor with a copy of his book in hand.

The book is filled with factual errors and/or completely made-up information about a wide variety of our community’s most important players, including Dr. Andrew Wakefield, David Kirby, RFK JR., and Jenny McCarthy, to name just a few.

Answer: There was no change in the death rate. You could drop vaccination rates to zero percent and you’d still see no change in the number of people dying from the flu. That’s because flu vaccines simply don’t work.

They can’t. The 50% statistic is an example of quack medical marketing. If I have a room full of 100 people, then I take the 50 healthiest people and hand them a candy bar, I can’t then scientifically claim that “candy bars make people healthy.” That’s essentially the same logic behind the “50% reduction in mortality” claim of flu vaccines. Answer: Although they claim such studies would be “unethical,” what’s far more unethical is to keep injecting hundreds of millions of people every year with useless, harmful vaccines that aren’t backed by a shred of honest evidence.

I know what the MMR has done to Nicholas. So many parents tell the same story. There is no such thing a genetic epidemic.

Merck knows exactly what they’re doing here. I do not believe they ever intended to bring back the single vaccines. Doesn’t it make you wonder what would happen if enough parents used the single vaxes and the autism rate actually declined? I certainly don’t think the MMR is the only cause of autism, but I certainly think it’s part of it for many, many children.

Here’s another thought for you… in the past few years, the rate of autism jumped significantly. Do you think your kids got through okay, so it must be genetics and nothing else? How about thinking about your future grandchildren? By the time your children are having children, the autism rate will most likely be 1 in 2 given the rate in which it is climbing. Do you feel comfortable about flipping a coin with something like this?

Separate measles, mumps, rubella vaccine formulations discontinued

A representative from Merck announced that the company plans to discontinue production of monovalent measles, mumps, rubella vaccine formulations during the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practice’s meeting yesterday.

“We greatly value the role the CDC and the ACIP have taken in putting forth recommendations and policies about the optimal use of vaccines for infectious diseases. Similarly, we take our role very seriously in terms of developing and supplying vaccines that are optimally suited to meet these needs,” said Mark Feinberg, MD, PhD, vice president of medical affairs in Merck’s division of vaccines and infectious diseases. “Based on discussions that took place at the last ACIP meeting among scientific leaders we have decided that Merck will not resume production of our monovalent measles, mumps and rubella vaccines.”

Feinberg added that the company will focus attention to meet current prevention needs on production of the combination M-M-R II vaccine. “When we receive questions from parents or other interested parties we will refer them to the useful information provided by the CDC, the ACIP, the AAP and other professional organizations.”

The announcement occurred during discussions to streamline recommendations made during the past year in the committee’s 2010 immunization schedules for children and adults. Merck’s decision is based on the ACIP’s stated general preference for combination vaccines and follows controversial debates concerning the increased risk for febrile seizures among measles, mumps, rubella and varicella virus live vaccine (ProQuad, Merck) recipients at the past several meetings.

Health care providers continue to experience push back from vaccine-hesitant parents, despite no evidence to support long term adverse events among patients who experienced the seizures and amid additional unfounded concerns that vaccines cause autism. These parents either decline vaccination or request to space out recommended vaccines, contrary to evidence that indicates delaying vaccines poses a greater risk to children than the theoretical threat from vaccines.

Merck’s announcement was welcomed by applause from committee members and meeting attendees, who recognized the moves potential positive effect on public health. Combination vaccine formulations typically cost more for manufacturers to produce, undergo more rigorous testing to receive approval and yield lower reimbursement rates for physicians, but result in less pain for children and have the potential to improve vaccine coverage rates.

In addition to the announcement, the committee passed motions to incorporate clarified language concerning decisions made earlier this year, including:

Changes to footnotes for hepatitis A and B, Haemophilus influenzae type B, inactivated polio, meningcococcal and rotavirus vaccines in the childhood and adolescent immunization schedule.
Clarifications in intervals between pneumococcal vaccine administration in the childhood schedules.
Language to distinguish between seasonal and H1N1 influenza in both the child, adolescent and adult schedules.
Language to distinguish between seasonal and H1N1 influenza in both the child, adolescent and adult schedules.
General recommendations for handling and storing herpes zoster vaccine.

Abstract (provisional)

Background
This study investigated the effect of oral dimercapto succinic acid (DMSA) therapy for children with autism spectrum disorders ages 3-8 years.

Methods
Phase 1 involved 65 children who received one round of DMSA (3 days). Participants who had high urinary excretion of toxic metals were selected to continue on to phase 2. In phase 2, 49 participants were randomly assigned in a double-blind design to receive an additional 6 rounds of either DMSA or placebo.

Results
DMSA greatly increased the excretion of lead, substantially increased excretion of tin and bismuth, and somewhat increased the excretion of thallium, mercury, antimony, and tungsten. There was some increase in urinary excretion of essential minerals, especially potassium and chromium. The Phase 1 single round of DMSA led to a dramatic normalization of RBC glutathione in almost all cases, and greatly improved abnormal platelet counts, suggesting a significant decrease in inflammation.

Conclusions
Overall, DMSA therapy seems to be reasonably safe, effective in removing several toxic metals (especially lead), dramatically effective in normalizing RBC glutathione, and effective in normalizing platelet counts. Only 1 round (3 days) was sufficient to improve glutathione and platelets. Additional rounds increased excretion of toxic metals.

Abstract (provisional)

Background
This study investigated the effects of oral dimercapto succinic acid (DMSA) therapy on the behavioural symptoms of children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) ages 3-8 years.

Methods
Phase 1 involved 65 children with ASD who received one round of DMSA (3 days). Participants who had high urinary excretion of toxic metals were selected to continue on to phase 2. In phase 2, 49 participants were randomly assigned in a double-blind design to receive an additional 6 rounds of either DMSA or placebo.

Results
The groups receiving one round and seven rounds of DMSA had significant improvements on all the assessment measures. The degree of improvement on the assessment measures could be partially explained by a regression analysis based on excretion of toxic metals and changes in glutathione (adjusted R2 of 0.28-0.75, p<0.02 in all cases). One round of DMSA had nearly the same benefit as seven rounds. The assessment measures correlated reasonably with one another at the beginning of the study (r=0.60-0.87) and even better at the end of the study (r=0.63-0.94).

Conclusions
Overall, both one and seven rounds of DMSA therapy seems to be reasonably safe in children with ASD who have high urinary excretion of toxic metals, and possibly helpful in reducing some of the symptoms of autism in those children.

The vast majority of scientists, physicians, nurses and public health educators’ trust that the ingredients in a vaccine have been individually and synergistically proven safe and effective. The public believes these vaccines, aside from their specified virus(es), are sterile solutions, free from undesirable contaminants not listed on the manufacturer’s package inserts. When the pediatrician injects a vaccine into the muscle of a child, the parents unquestioning faith that this is the case. In other words, we want to believe that vaccines have been generated under perfect conditions for the safety of children and ourselves.

Our investigation shows that most people do not know what is actually in a vaccine: the active ingredients listed on product labels, inert ingredients, and, most important, the hidden ingredients. Even more remote is taking the time to actually study the subject matter, review the scientific literature and discover the truth for oneself. To our amazement, that truth was easy to find. But it is a truth that will scare the hell out of you.

This video unfolds before your eyes every step in that little creature’s life, from the veal’s birth to the parmesan on your plate. To give us the most in depth, honest, scholarly and objective examination about the methods by which vaccines and their hidden ingredients are prepared we turn to the award-winning British investigative medical journalist, Janine Roberts, who paints an entirely different picture about the darker inferno in vaccines that do not appear on product labels. This is the same Janine Roberts who brought to the world’s attention blood diamonds, genocide in the Congo and the destruction of aboriginal cultures by the Australian government.

Roberts’ account of conversations between high level members from the World Health Organization (WHO), federal health agencies, and expert vaccine scientists, who determine whether or not a certain vaccine will be approved or not, is horrid. Her investigations are based on official meeting documents and her attendance at emergency vaccine meetings, and confirm that our world’s vaccine and health experts agree there is no solution in sight to resolve the potential and uncertain threats posed by these hidden ingredients.(1)

The story begins with the vaccine industrial complex’s attempt to reduce vaccine manufacturing costs by seeking government approval to use cancerous cell lines in the development of vaccines. Vaccine industry’s rationale is that cancerous cells are “immortal.” Current vaccine methodology relies on animal cells, such as fertilized hen embryos and monkey kidneys, that die quickly in culture. Using cancerous cell lines are also much cheaper than relying on the purchase of animals, especially monkeys, that need to be sacrificed for vaccine substrates.

Roberts records two separate meetings—a meeting of the Vaccine and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee on November 9, 1998, and a subsequent gathering of the Evolving Scientific and Regulatory Perspective Workshop less than a year later. The conversations were conducted at a scientific level between top officials and expert scientists from the FDA, Centers for Biologics Evaluation and Research (CBER), the National Institute of Allergies and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), the WHO and others, each providing evidence and/or confirmation that all vaccines are dangerously contaminated.

Conversations focused primarily on the influenza, MMR and yellow fever vaccines, which rely on fertilized chicken eggs for their culturing viruses. Fertilized chicken eggs, while ideally suited for culturing certain viruses for vaccines, such as the influenza and MMR vaccines, are also living incubators for large numbers of known and unknown viruses in the animal kingdom. While these do not transmit from their animal host to humans naturally, they nevertheless are sequential genetic codes, which when injected into the human body, have the potential for any number of unpredictable adverse effects by interfering or merging with the codes of human cells. Vaccine research is at best a primitive science because it is injecting into the blood stream foreign substances, chemical and genetic, that would otherwise not enter the body naturally. When we include into the equation the enormous amount of known and unknown genetic material and foreign proteins that vaccines introduce into the body, and then consider the rapid increase in epidemics raging across the American population—adult diabetes in children, large numbers of various inflammatory and immune deficiency diseases, asthma and new allergies, severe gastro-intestinal disorders (eg., leaky gut syndrome and Crohn’s Disease), chronic fatigue syndrome, and many different neurological disorders (eg., autism, ADD and ADHD, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, etc.)—we must step back and reconsider their causes. We should avoid the kind of faith the vaccine industrial complex has in its determinist, reductionist perspective of genetic materialism to find these answers without taking into account the bombardment of toxic chemicals such as vaccine adjuvants and preservatives, extraneous genetic material, and pathogenic organisms and foreign genetic fragments that we assault our bodies from shortly after birth into old age.

For some time, it was known that the enzyme reverse transcriptase (RT) was present in final vaccine solutions. RT has been used to this day as an indicator that there is a presence of a retrovirus. During the meeting’s proceedings, the WHO decided to withhold public announcement of such genetic contamination, in this case concerning the MMR vaccine, and made the decision to not remove it from the market and, in the meantime, continue safety studies at various laboratories.

Roberts reports that Dr. Arifa Khan from the FDA confirmed:

The RT activity in the vaccine was associated with retrovirus particles from two separate viral strains: Avian Leuokosis Virus (ALV) and Equine Arteritis Virus (EAV). The former was especially disturbing because ALV is a leukemia cancer, and Dr. Khan stated: “There was a theoretical possibility that the virus [ALV] could” infect the [human] cell.” In summary, this means the ALV genetic code could integrate with human DNA, hence causing some kind of cancer.

The FDA’s reassurance that the ALV RT activity was safe is based on laboratory observations that there was no viral-human DNA merger activity for “a full 48 hours’. This kind of assurance is almost nonsensical and flies in the face of scientific reasoning since cancers can take years to develop!

As a side note, reverse transcriptase activity is one of the stalwarts of the HIV/AIDS hypothesis. An article, “Serious Questions Regarding the Safety and Efficacy of the Influenza Vaccine” published by Canada’s Vaccine Risk Awareness Network reports that some studies, and even some vaccine package inserts, “indicate that vaccinations increase HIV viral replication.”(2) This means all vaccines stimulate a strong suppressive effect on the immune system. Under stress conditions, viruses turn hyperactive and increase their ability to replicate.

The other risk stated by the FDA official was the possibility of the ALV sequence merging with the measles virus, hence creating a completely new, mutant and dangerous virus. (This could also apply equally to the H1N1 swine flu and any other flu vaccines). As an aside, the world renown British geneticist Dr. Mae-Wan Ho from the Institute of Science in Society wrote that, “Vaccines themselves can be dangerous, especially live, attenuated viral vaccines or the new recombinant nucleic acid vaccines, they have the potential to generate virulent viruses by recombination and the recombinant nucleic acids could cause autoimmune disease.”(3)

During the meeting, Dr. Andrew Lewis, then head of the DNA Virus Laboratory in the Division of Viral Products confirmed that “All the egg-based vaccines are contaminated”. These fertilized chicken eggs are susceptible to a wide variety of viruses.” The participants also realized that only a very small fraction of these small contaminants have been identified and there are likely hundreds more to be discovered.

Roberts found a 2001 CDC report showing that RT investigative studies for both the ALV and EAV retroviruses were conducted in 100 patients receiving the MMR vaccine. They found undesirable “RT activity in all measles vaccine lots from different manufacturers tested.” Their conclusion is that “this occurrence is not sporadic and that vaccine recipients may be universally exposed to these [chicken] retroviral particles.” In a separate National Institutes of Health transcript of a meeting, Dr. Conroy of the World Health Organization stated that EAV viruses are found in all fertilized chicken eggs. There appears to be little change in the scientific protocol for making the influenza, MMR and yellow fever vaccines. The current release of intramuscular H1N1 vaccines for the global market relies on the use of fertilized chicken embryos. These include each of the approved vaccines by CSL, Medimmune, Novartis and Sanofi-Pasteur, as well as GlaxoSmithKlines if and when it is approved in the US.

A later meeting of the FDA’s Scientific and Regulatory Perspective Workshop, without the press, was convened on September 7, 1999 in Washington DC, and attended by “representatives from all the largest public health institutions in the West.” The following are summaries of key points and statements raised during this meeting as recorded in Janine Roberts invaluable book Fear of the Invisible.

—- It was reconfirmed that vaccines are “widely contaminated by viral and DNA genetic code fragments, many viruses and proteins. There was expressed concern that these may also contain prions (tiny proteins responsible for incurable diseases and neurological disorders in both humans and animals) and oncogenes (a gene that turns normal cells into cancerous ones). One attendee, Dr. Goldberg, stated, “There are countless thousands of undiscovered viruses, proteins and similar particles. We have only identified a very small part of the microbial world—and we can only test for those we have identified. Thus the vaccine cultures could contain many unknown particles.”

—- Dr. Andrew Lewis of the FDA said that a brand-new monkey-human mutant virus was created during the course of creating an adenovirus vaccine with adenvovirus-SV40 hybrid viruses. Dr. Lewis also worried that “foreign cellular DNA” common in childhood vaccines could include “viral oncogenes” capable of causing cancer.

—- The scientists presented a question to themselves as to whether or not an attenuated vaccine strain could revert into a variant virus capable of replicating so fast that it would cause AIDS. They agreed that they were unable to answer this question.

—- On the question whether or not mutation events could occur in children after vaccination, the answer was that “Recombination among a variety of viruses [contaminant viruses] and cells co-infected in tissue culture is not uncommon.” What this basically means is that because it is “not uncommon” for genetic codes of both contaminant viruses and living cells to recombine and create mutations in laboratory cultures, it can certainly occur in a child’s body after vaccination.

—- Dr. Hana Golding, Chief of CBER’s Laboratory of Retrovirus Research, raised the fear that although DNA fragment contaminants in vaccines may be thought to be dead, they could remain active and dangerous. This meant that the codes of these contaminants could combine in vaccines and create new mutant strains of pathogens.

—- Dr. Leonard Hayflick, a virologist at both Stanford and the University of California at San Francisco raised a concern that the common primary culture used for making vaccines with animals and bird embryos has created a situation where it is “apparent that these cells contained many unwanted viruses, some of which were lethal to humans.” This was especially worrisome of those vaccines, such as polio, which still rely on monkey kidney cells that have contributed to widespread death and illness.

—- One of the UK’s leading vaccine expert, Dr. Phil Minor from the National Institute of Biological Standards and Control, noted that some cases of polio vaccine are polluted with more monkey virus, SV40, than actual poliovirus. Although the uninitiated who are not informed about-closed door vaccine science have been led to assume that SV40 was no longer in polio vaccines at the time of this meeting, the conversations confirmed that it was still in use. This is another example of deception at high levels within the vaccine industrial complex and high government health officials to withhold information that directly impacts the health and well being of citizens.

—- Dr. Rebecca Sheets from the CBER’s laboratory responsible for monitoring vaccine safety stated the national health organizations had no control over how vaccines were made. In short, they could make recommendations but the vaccine industrial complex was free to act as it chooses.

—- It is impossible to remove DNA contaminants from vaccines. Although weight limits for contaminating DNA were set by the FDA as far back as 1986, vaccine makers have never been able to reach that goal. The CDC decided to limit their weight recommendation to cancerous cell lines and then increase the other DNA contamination allowance one hundred-fold. However, these limits are only “recommendations” and, therefore, the FDA is unable to enforce them. Vaccine manufacturers continue to have the freedom to take scientific measures to reduce contaminants only if they wish.

Remember, this level of contamination (10 nanograms) only applies to a single vaccine. Children today are inoculated with many vaccines before entering school, each with unique DNA and viral contaminants due to the specific cell substrates used for a given vaccine. This toxic genetic soup is what then flows through a vaccinated person’s body.

—- One government health official stated, “I chaired the committee that licensed the chickenpox vaccine, and it [residual DNA] was actually an issue that we considered at that time. We looked among recipients of the vaccine for evidence of an autoimmune response associated with the DNA included in that vaccine”" Actually, we didn’t look, we asked the company to look and they did not find one.” Well, of course, only such assurances can be convincing if in fact the company conducted the study, for which there was no compulsory reason to. Clearly, what the official is saying is that health authorities may not possess any study documents that such a study actually exists.

—- Can vaccine DNA contamination cause cancer or autoimmune disease? A meeting participant responded, “when you consider that almost every one of these vaccines is injected right into the tissue” I think you couldn’t do much more to get the DNA expressed [to get contaminating DNA taken up by human cells] than to inject it into a muscle in the way it’s being done.”

—- Again CBER’s Dr. Rebecca Sheets: “I think that the vast majority of licensed vaccines, US licensed vaccines, have not been tested for residual DNA.”

—- A more frightening question was raised as to whether it was known if there has been any presence of foamy virus. Foamy virus (HFV in human form and its more widespread parent SFV from monkeys), although not infectious, is a deadly carcinogen. To the participants’ knowledge, they did not know whether any laboratory has ever searched for it in vaccine preparations.

—- The meeting confirmed that a particular cell, “which under many conditions is neoplastic [tumor causing]” has been licensed for the production of both injectible and oral polio vaccines in the US, Thailand, Belgium and France. Therefore, these vaccines carry the high risk of containing cancer-causing oncogenes.

In order to appreciate the magnitude of the contamination problem in vaccine products, it is important to understand that vaccine filtration needs to allow the targeted virus’s passage to remain for vaccine use. Other particles and pathogens—DNA and RNA fragments from other organisms (and pathogens) in the manufacturing process, cellular substrates, and viral proteins–smaller than the vaccine’s virus will remain in the vaccine.

What the content of these meetings tells us is best expressed by one of the leading attendants at the meeting, Dr. Minor stated, “So even today then you have to bear in mind that a large amount of vaccine that’s made is made on really quite crude materials, from an adventitious agent point of view. It’s not a trivial usage. In fact, when considering what vaccines are actually made on these days, they are quite primitive in some respects.” Janine Roberts summarizes her investigations succinctly,

“In other words, the vaccines we give our children are liquids filled with a host of unknown particles, most of which came from the cells of non-humans: from chickens, monkeys and even from cancer cells. Truly we do not know what we are doing or what are the long-term consequences. All that is known for sure is that vaccines are a very cheap form of public medicine often provided by governments to assure the public that they really do care for the safety of our children.”

The conclusion that can be drawn from these meetings convened by our national and international health officials in vaccine science and safety is that vaccines are virtually genetic experiments, capable of causing mass cellular destruction, being injected into the world’s population, especially children. There remain so many unanswered questions about vaccine science. This includes the forthcoming swine flu vaccines that will include the contaminants mentioned above, if we take any of these meeting attendees’ words to heart.

If we are to express any awe and wonder it should be towards our body’s natural immune system and its ability to defend itself from the onslaught of vaccine brews. It is not vaccination that is a miracle of science, as the vaccine industrial complex, government health authorities and their congregations of believers are too eager to proclaim. In fact, the real miracle is the body’s ability to protect itself, in most cases, from the invasion of vaccines. Yet, even this statement is now turning suspect given the dramatic rise in multiple illnesses and inflammatory conditions across the age spectrum.

As with all living systems, whether it be a natural habitat in the wild, the planet’s climate system to support life, or the body’s immune system, a tipping point is eventually reached. Today, with the majority of the public still buying into the false promises of vaccination’s efficacy and safety, the vaccine industrial complex remains an extraordinarily lucrative business. More and more vaccines are now being developed for a wide variety of diseases and infections— Chlamydia, herpes simplex type 2, West Nile virus, Epstein-Barr virus, and others—that will only add to the overload of vaccines already recommended, especially to children who are officially recommended to receive 36 separate vaccinations by the time they reach 18 months of age. As these new genetic poisons are added to the national health agencies’ recommended vaccination schedule, a tipping point may be reached that will result in a more serious pandemic, a pandemic of Vaccine Disease, manifesting in myriad illnesses dependent upon each vaccinated person’s genetic predisposition and the robustness of the immune system, than any epidemic threat posed by wild infectious pathogens, including the H1N1 swine flu, that could unfold in our so-called developed, hygienic society.

The swine flu is simply another flu. It is not unusually deadly.

This is the first time both seasonal and pandemic flu vaccines will be administered. Both seasonal flu and swine flu vaccines will require two inoculations. This is because single inoculations have failed to produce sufficient antibodies. This is an admission that prior flu vaccines were virtually useless. Can you trust them this time?

Adjuvants are added to vaccines to boost production of antibodies but may trigger autoimmune reactions. Some adjuvants are mercury (thimerosal), aluminum and squalene. Why would you sign a consent form for your children to be injected with mercury, which is even more brain-toxic than lead?

This is the first year mock vaccines have been used to gain FDA approval. The vaccines that have been tested are not the same vaccines your children will be given.

Over-vaccination is a common practice now in America. American children are subjected to 29 vaccines by the age of two. Meanwhile, veterinarians have backed off of repeat vaccination in dogs because of observed side effects.

Modern medicine has no explanation for autism, despite its continued rise in prevalence. Yet autism is not reported among Amish children who go unvaccinated.

Researchers are warning that over-use of the flu vaccine and anti-flu drugs like Tamiflu and Relenza can apply genetic pressure on flu viruses and then they are more likely to mutate into a more deadly strain.

Most seasonal influenza A (H1N1) virus strains tested from the United States and other countries are now resistant to Tamiflu (oseltamivir). Tamiflu has become a nearly worthless drug against seasonal flu.

Public health officials are irresponsible in their omission of any ways to strengthen immunity against the flu. No options outside of problematic vaccines and anti-flu drugs are offered, despite the fact there is strong evidence that vitamins C and D activate the immune system and the trace mineral selenium prevents the worst form of the disease.

President Obama’s school age daughters have not been vaccinated against the H1N1 flu virus. White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs says the vaccine is not available to them based on their risk.

The Centers for Disease Control recommend that children ages 6 months through 18 years of age receive a vaccination against the H1N1 flu virus. At this time only children with chronic medical conditions are receiving the vaccination because their immune system is not strong enough to fight off the strain. The CDC also says a regular seasonal flu shot does not protect against the virus.

(CNN) — Mexico saw the first public protests this weekend over the government’s decision to allow cultivation of the first genetically modified corn, which environmentalists and others say could ruin the nation’s native crop.

About 45 Greenpeace activists hung a black banner and protest signs Sunday at the Angel of Independence, a victory column in a busy traffic circle on one of Mexico City’s major thoroughfares. It is one of Mexico City’s most recognized monuments.

“Today, the Angel of Independence is in mourning to demand that the Mexican government protect our principal nourishment — corn,” said Aleira Lara, a Greenpeace leader at the protest.

The nation’s agriculture and environment departments approved two permits last week from among 35 applications to grow the controversial crop.

Unlike traditional crops, which are modified through selective breeding, genetically modified crops are engineered by having changes introduced into their DNA.

Genetic engineering can improve desired traits such as nutritional content or resistance to herbicides, pests and disease. The modifications also can increase tolerance for cold and drought.

Other genetically modified crops include soybeans, cotton and papayas.

Critics of the technique say they worry about the effect on consumers, other crops and the environment.

Germany earlier this year banned a genetically modified strain of corn, saying the government wanted to protect the safety of consumers and the environment.

Mexico said the genetically modified crops are in an experimental phase and will be planted on plots controlled by the government and isolated from other crops. The new crops also will be planted in states that do not grow native corn, which is a major staple of the Mexican diet. Corn is grown on about one-third of the country’s cultivated land, mostly in central Mexico.

But the Mexican protesters said they fear the genetically modified corn could harm the nation’s 55 varieties of native corn.

“Without corn, there is no country,” some protesters said. The slogan rhymes in Spanish: “Sin maiz, no hay pais.”

Two scientific studies have determined that transgenic corn has already contaminated some native Mexican corn fields.

In 2001, a study in the journal Nature reported that transgenic DNA had been found in traditional corn crops in the state of Oaxaca. Earlier this year, research published in the journal Molecular Ecology also found genetically modified corn contamination of native Mexican corn.

Signs hung on statues at the protest said: “Our corn first, traitors” and “Transgenic corn: End to independence.”

Greenpeace and other critics say that modified corn would kill off independent growers, because they would have to buy their seed from one of four businesses that own the patents.

“Farmers will be beholden to those companies when their fields are contaminated and no producer will be able to plant his seed, like they do now, because they will have to pay royalties to those corporations to plant again,” protest leader Lara said.

In its February article, Molecular Ecology said that most of the current crop in the nation comes from private supplies of seed.

“Maize is a staple food in Mexico, with a pivotal place in the country’s past and present economic, cultural and agricultural spheres,” the article says in its introduction. “In contrast to the United States and Europe, commercial seed sources account for only one-fourth of the maize seed planted in Mexico. Furthermore, Mexican maize is mostly grown by smallholder farmers who obtain seed from their own harvest or from other farmers.”

Molecular Ecology also points out, though, that the “introduction of transgenic maize has resulted in an increase in maize production.”

And it is that increase in production that lies at the heart of Mexico’s decision to allow the two test permits, analysts say.

“Mexico is a net importer of corn from the United States,” said Bruce Bagley, chairman of the University of Miami Graduate School of International Studies.

Mexico grows two types of corn: yellow, which is similar to that grown in the United States, and white, which is native to Mexico.

The native white corn amounts to roughly 90 percent of the nation’s production. Yellow corn makes up the remaining 10 percent.

White corn is used for human consumption while yellow corn is used primarily for animal feed. An increase in meat and chicken consumption in Mexico in the past decade has led to greater demand for yellow corn for animal feed. Unable to meet this demand, Mexico has had to import about 89 percent of the corn it needs for feed, says the U.S. Agriculture Department. And 99.8 percent of that corn comes from the United States, the department says.

“Mexico wants to produce enough crops so they don’t have to import foods,” said Susan Kaufman Purcell, director of the Center for Hemispheric Policy at the University of Miami. “Greater yields will lead to not having to import as much food from the United States.”

There are other factors, such as increasingly common food shortages throughout the world that have driven up prices. The price of corn, for example, has more than doubled since 2007. That prompted about 70,000 people to take to the streets of Mexico last year to protest the price of tortillas, which jumped through the roof in January 2008.

“Mexico is feeling the pangs of food insecurity,” Bagley said.

Greater corn production and less importation also would ease the nation’s balance of payments.

Bagley also sees another reason why Mexico may have allowed introduction of the genetically modified corn.

The United States has pressured Mexico strongly to accept the modified crop, Bagley said. Mexico has acquiesced due to provisions in the North American Free Trade Agreement.

But if the experimental plots lead to greater contamination of native crops, Bagley said, Mexico could have the legal grounds to refuse widespread importation of the new corn.

Greenpeace doesn’t want to wait that long. The global environmental organization asked Mexico for an immediate moratorium on the use of the transgenic corn.

There has been no indication they’re likely to get it any time soon.

Irva Hertz-Picciotto & colleagues have published results of a study comparing mercury (Hg) levels in children with and without autism (1). The study does not report findings about total body burden of Hg in children, nor does the study evaluate levels of Hg in the brain or other specific organs in autistic and non-autistic children.

Indeed, the researchers who did the blood-Hg study state: “As only 5% of body burdens of Hg are estimated to be in circulation, (Burbacher et al. 2005; Stinson et al. 1989) reliable conclusions about distribution are not possible from one-time observational measurements in blood.” (1) Since various forms of mercury can enter the brain and remain there (17), and since different tissues of humans and other species retain mercury at various rates (16), the larger context of Hertz-Picciotto et al’s findings need be considered.

Relevant questions include: What do Hg levels in blood signify? Alternatively, what don’t they signify? And what does intra-body and intra-brain mercury mean for children with weak alleles in glutathione-related pathways or born to mothers with weak alleles in glutathione-related pathways?

Although the new study purports to offer a review of autism genetics, Hertz-Picciotto et al (1) omit an important category of citations related to mercury, glutathione, methylation, and autism (eg, 2-14).

Furthermore, the researchers cite two studies of in vivo thimerosal levels (Pichichero et al 2002, 2008) while omitting consideration of Waly et al 2004, who investigated thimerosal levels lower than those described by Pichichero et al 2002 in human infants, found that methionine synthase was inhibited, and concluded that “The potent inhibition of this pathway by ethanol, lead, mercury, aluminum and thimerosal suggests that it may be an important target of neurodevelopmental toxins.” (15)

Why were these important findings omitted? Weren’t the reviewers aware of cites 1-15 hereinbelow?

In seeking to understand intra-body and intra-brain Hg, Lorscheider et al provide important insights.

In a study available free online, data reviewed by Lorscheider et al (16) indicate that Hg exposure does not lead to equivalent concentration in all tissues. For instance, from chronic exposure via amalgam vapors, some tissues accumulate more Hg than do other tissues (16).

Caveat: ingesting one’s own amalgam vapors probably includes olfactory exposure as well as oral/gastrointestinal exposure and therefore is not perfectly akin to ingesting Hg by eating fish. Nonetheless, Hg distribution findings due to amalgams may be instructive.

“The degree to which body tissues can sequester amalgam Hg after exposure has been demonstrated in a variety of human and animal experiments… The brain/CSF Hg ratio had increased threefold by 4 wk after amalgam fillings had been installed…” (16)

“Repeated observations in adult sheep… demonstrate that after placement of amalgam fillings the blood Hg levels remain relatively low even though the surrounding body tissue concentrations of Hg become many fold higher than blood. This suggests that tissues rapidly sequester amalgam Hg at a rate equivalent to its initial appearance in the circulation. Such a phenomenon may explain why monitoring blood levels of Hg in humans is a poor indicator of the actual tissue body burden directly attributable to continuous low-dose Hg exposure from amalgam.” (16)

Lorscheider et al (16) summarize another important point:

“Both intracellular Hg2 and Hg are ultimately bound covalently to glutathione (GSH) and protein cysteine groups. Hg2 is the toxic product responsible for the adverse effects of inhaled Hg0. Body tissues have various retention half-lives for Hg and Hg2 ranging from days to years… ”

Implications ensue from the Hg/GSH genetics findings in autism and from the Hg-distribution studies reviewed in Lorscheider et al:
a) Tissue levels of Hg are are likely differ from and to be greater than Hg levels found in blood.
b) Subgroups of children who have developed autism are known to have one or more problems in pathways related to glutathione and methylation (eg, 2-14) may detoxify Hg and related compounds poorly and thus may sequester Hg and related compounds disadvantegeously.
c) Blood levels of Hg in autistic children (1) tell us little about Hg in their brain and other tissues.

As Hertz-Picciotto et al mention, several studies have found associations between autism rates and environmental mercury (18-20), and these findings conjoin with the often ignored fact that thimerosal in early life vaccines increases risk for autism and for developmental disabilities requiring special education (21-22).

Be aware: some brands of H1N1 (”swine”) flu vaccine and non-H1N1 influenza vaccines contain substantial amounts of thimerosal (eg, 23).

Did you know that Kraft Macaroni and Cheese is formulated differently in Europe than that in the U.S.? This fact recently surfaced while I was doing an investigative search, I was livid!

The letter campaign simply requests that Kraft value the health of our children as highly as they value children in other countries.

Health care workers in New York will no longer be forced to get the H1N1 swine flu vaccine, CBS 2 has learned.

A state Supreme Court judge issued a restraining order Friday against the state from enforcing the controversial mandatory vaccination.

The order came as the Public Employees Federation sued to reverse a policy requiring vaccination against the seasonal and swine flu viruses, arguing that state Health Commissioner Richard Daines overstepped his authority.

Three parties – the Public Employees Federaion, New York State United Teachers, and an attorney representing four Albany nurses – challenged the order and for now the vaccination for nurses, doctors, aides, and non-medical staff members who might be in a patient’s room will remain voluntary.

The health department had said the workers must be vaccinated by November 30 or face possible disciplinary action, including dismissal. PEF said it encourages members to get flu vaccinations, but opposes the emergency regulation requiring the vaccine as a condition of employment.

A judge granted a temporary restraining order Friday morning, PEF spokeswoman Debbie Miles said. A court hearing is scheduled for October 30.

New York was the first state in the country to initially mandate flu vaccinations for its health care workers, but many health care workers quickly protested against the ruling. In Hauppauge, workers outside a local clinic screamed “No forced shots!” when the mandate came down at the end of September.

“I don’t even tend to the sick. I am in the nutrition field. They are telling me I must get the shot because I work in a health clinic setting,” said Paula Small, a Women, Infants and Children health care worker.

Small said she would refuse to be vaccinate, worried the vaccine is untested and unproven, leaving her vulnerable. In 1976, there were some deaths associated with a swine flu vaccination.

Registered nurse Frank Mannino, 50, was also angry. He said the state regulation violates his personal freedom and civil rights.

“And now I will lose my job if I don’t take the regular flu shot or the swine flu shot.”

When asked if he’s willing to lose his job, Mannino said, “Absolutely. I will not take it, will not be forced. This is still America.”

The protest also shook Albany. Hundreds of demonstrators demanded freedom of choice. After all, as health care professionals, they argue they’re already constantly washing their hands and aren’t likely to transmit or contract the flu.

Around 500,000 health care workers would have been slated to receive the vaccine

“It’s certainly their prerogative to voice their opinion,” said Dr. Susan Donelan of Stony Brook University Hospital.

Donelan said most in the medical community see the benefits and safety of the shots and welcome them, and that hospitals must obey the law.

“Our hospital is committed to following the mandate to have our personnel vaccinated,” she said.

The state said change was needed this year to save lives. Typically only about 45 percent of health care workers take advantage of voluntary flu vaccines.

More than 150 institutional outbreaks of seasonal and H1N1 flu are expected this year in hospitals, nursing homes and hospice centers.

There is also a strong resistance to the vaccine from the general public. A new Harvard University poll shows that only four in 10 adults intend to take the vaccine themselves, and only six in 10 plan to give it to their children.

It is simply no longer possible to believe much of the clinical research that is published, or to rely on the judgment of trusted physicians or authoritative m…ed…ical guidelines. I take no pleasure in this conclusion, which I reached slowly and reluctantly over my two decades as an editor of The New England Journal of Medicine.

The federal government has accelerated its $16 million dollar PR campaign to brainwash and coerce increasingly suspicious Americans into taking the swine flu vaccine by weaving their propaganda into a popular pre-school show for children currently airing on PBS Kids.

Sid the Science Kid is a half-hour series produced by Jim Henson Productions and KCET in Los Angeles, California. The program is bankrolled in part by The Boeing Company, a titan of the military-industrial complex.

During an episode of the show set to air on Monday, the computer-generated characters are shown dancing around and singing about how their are taking their flu vaccine.

Indeed, the entire episode is devoted to pro-vaccine propaganda and was created in association with Health and Human Services. The episode is entitled, “Getting a Shot: You can do it!”

According to a press release, “Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, Education Secretary Arne Duncan, and Lisa Henson, CEO of the Jim Henson Company, will join Washington-area school children for a screening of the new “Sid the Science Kid” special episode on the flu at the U.S. Department of Education Auditorium.”

Children will also be directed to the Sid the Science Kid website to play games focused around the issue of vaccines.

(NaturalNews) According to a U.S. government survey just published, rates of autism in children have doubled since 2003. Today, an estimated 1 in 91 children are being diagnosed with autism, making this the highest rate in any population in the history of human civilization. Meanwhile, the vaccination push in America continues, specifically targeting children with not just seasonal flu vaccines (which may contain thimerosal), but also the H1N1 swine flu vaccine.

It all begs the question: Is there a link between vaccines and autism?

In defending vaccines, many doctors have blamed autism on a genetic cause. But if it’s genetic, why are rates skyrocketing so quickly? The gene pool obviously isn’t changing that dramatically. There’s no such thing as a “genetic epidemic.” If genes caused autism, the rate of autism diagnosis should be holding steady year after year. Clearly, something else is at work, causing the sharp increase in autism.

Autism is a neurological disorder. If you’re looking for the cause of autism, it only makes sense to look at causes involving environmental factors that expose children to chemicals linked to neurological disorders. Vaccines immediately come to mind, not only because they contain thimerosal — a preservative made with methyl mercury that’s extremely toxic to the nervous system — but also because they contain chemical adjuvants like squalene, which directly cause inflammation of the nervous system.

So what happens when a nutrient-deficient child is exposed to more than one hundred vaccines injected with thimerosal, squalene and other chemicals? It’s not unreasonable to suspect that vaccines — which inject these chemicals directly into the body — might be one of the more obvious causes.

The pharmaceutical industry (which thrives on vaccines) claims there is absolutely no link between vaccines and autism. Well of course they do! The entire future of pharmaceutical profit-making depends on the continued propagandizing of the myth that chemical intervention improves human health. They’re no more likely to find fault with their own vaccines than a cigarette company is to admit cigarettes cause cancer.

“Asking the pharmaceutical industry to investigate the safety of vaccines is like asking Big Tobacco to investigate the safety of cigarettes.

What’s clear is that rates have autism have paralleled the rise in children’s vaccines. Each year we get more vaccines pushed onto children, and each year we see increases in autism. Given that many vaccines contain a neurotoxic heavy metal (mercury) and neurotoxic adjuvants, it only seems reasonable to start looking at vaccines as one of the important contributing factors (if not the main cause) of autism.

Other factors for autism
There are likely other factors involved, and their danger potentially gets multiplied in the presence of methyl mercury from vaccines. Monosodium glutamate (MSG), for example, is a neurotoxin, too, and kids today are eating more and more foods laced with MSG as flavor enhancers. (It’s found in canned soups, gravy mixes, salad dressings, snack dips, and virtually all “instant” microwaveable meals.) Look for “yeast extract” on food labels: It’s a covert source of MSG that manufacturers use to avoid having to place “MSG” on the ingredients label.

There’s also aspartame and diet sodas. Aspartame is a potent neurotoxin that could be making the nervous system especially vulnerable to damage from vaccines. Beyond chemical food ingredients, the human nervous system can also be compromised by pain drugs administered during childbirth, antidepressant drugs or diabetes drugs given to expectant mothers, or even the highly toxic chemicals commonly found in “baby care” products used in hospitals around the world.

Even before they’re born, most first-world babies are exposed to a toxic stew of synthetic chemicals. The chemical invasion of a vaccine injection might be the one final blow that sends the nervous system in a downward spiral of destruction.

The facts cannot be denied: Our children are being neurologically poisoned by chemicals, and vaccines are one of the most worrisome sources of chemical suspects. In my opinion, any parent subjecting their child to vaccines today is directly putting their child in harm’s way. They are risking their child’s life in order to comply with a highly unethical, profit-focused vaccine push that has but one objective: To sell more dangerous pharmaceutical chemicals to children who don’t need them.

There will be a day in the future, I’m sure, when injecting a child with a neurotic chemical will be considered a felony crime, punishable by years in prison. Until that day comes, this same criminal act is innocuously called “administering a vaccine.”

This study examined whether acquisition of neonatal reflexes and sensorimotor skills in newborn rhesus macaques (Macaca mulatta) is influenced by receipt of the single neonatal dose of Hepatitis B (HB) vaccine containing the preservative thimerosal (Th). HB vaccine containing a standardized weight-adjusted Th dose was administered to male macaques within 24 hours of birth (n = 13). Unexposed animals received saline placebo (n = 4) or no injection (n = 3). Infants were raised identically and tested daily for acquisition of 9 survival, motor, and sensorimotor reflexes by a blinded observer. In exposed animals there was a significant delay in the acquisition of three survival reflexes: root, snout and suck, compared with unexposed animals. No neonatal responses were significantly delayed in unexposed animals compared with exposed.

Gestational age (GA) and birth weight were not significantly correlated. Cox regression models were used to evaluate the main effects and interactions of exposure with birth weight and GA as independent predictors and time-invariant covariates. Significant main effects remained for exposure on root and suck when controlling for GA and birth weight such that exposed animals were relatively delayed in time-to-criterion. There was a significant effect of GA on visual follow far when controlling for exposure such that increasing GA was associated with shorter time-to-criterion. Interaction models indicated that while there were no main effects of GA or birth weight on root, suck or snout reflexes there were various interactions between exposure, GA, and birth weight such that inclusion of the relevant interaction terms significantly improved model fit. This, in turn, indicated important influences of birth weight and/or GA on the effect of exposure which, in general, operated in a way that lower birth weight and/or lower GA exacerbated the detrimental effect of vaccine exposure. This primate model provides a possible means of assessing adverse neurodevelopmental outcomes from neonatal Th-containing HB vaccine exposure, particularly in infants of lower GA or low birth weight. The mechanism of these effects and the requirements for Th is not known and requires further study.

Tonight, as we were eating dinner, Nicholas was drawing. His drawing tonight was unlike anything we have ever witnessed with him before. On the first drawing, he drew a smiley face. It wasn’t scribbles, he didn’t draw the circle for the head several times. Just one solid line around, eyes, nose and mouth. He’s done this before - every once in a while…. but this time he added hair and ears. He didn’t launch into the scribble, scribble, scribble he usually does when he gets frustrated. He drew the picture and then started writing his name on his paper.

Then he pulls out another sheet. And he draws another face with different hair, wrote his name underneath it - and then drew a rainbow over the head. This one was his “masterpiece” and he wanted tape to hang it up. We watched him in awe drawing this. He actually opened one marker at a time, used that color, put the cap back on it and picked another color. There was no dumping of the box of markers all over the table. There was no using 6 different colors at the same time. There was no fast and furious scribbling. This was all though out drawing - and he was telling us about this picture as he was drawing.

He went for another big bike ride with daddy tonight. He brought home a rock collection for me to see - he would stop along the way and pick out a rock to bring home for mommy. When I got home, he was very proud to show me his “rock collection” - he showed me the big one and the small one - the round one, the flat one, etc. Very proud. Very, very proud of his collection.

He had karate last night - and he did great again. He joins right in during circle time, follows along well and listens to instructions. And he LOVES it. When he’s done, he runs over and says, “I did it!” He loves showing us what he’s learned that day. We saw a slight struggle with him getting dressed in the uniform initially, but he doesn’t seem to care anymore. He’s counting in Korean now too - has been since the 2nd lesson. So, he can count in English, Spanish, Chinese and now Korean. (I wish he’d focus on English, but we’ll take it! When we arrived last night, we got there a bit early. There was another little girl there waiting for her brother to finish, so she started talking and playing with Nicholas. They played tag - she ran him all over the place and he had such a good time playing with her. I thought it might throw him off getting into class, but it didn’t at all.

Every day he blows us away. Every day, he exceeds our expectations which are constantly being reset lately. We are so incredibly thrilled with his progress. He is just amazing!

A former Government medical officer responsible for deciding whether medicines are safe has accused the Government of “utterly inexplicable complacency” over the MMR triple vaccine for children.
Dr Peter Fletcher, who was Chief Scientific Officer at the Department of Health, said if it is proven that the jab causes autism, “the refusal by governments to evaluate the risks properly will make this one of the greatest scandals in medical history”.
He added that after agreeing to be an expert witness on drug-safety trials for parents’ lawyers, he had received and studied thousands of documents relating to the case which he believed the public had a right to see.
He said he has seen a “steady accumulation of evidence” from scientists worldwide that the measles, mumps and rubella jab is causing brain damage in certain children.
But he added: “There are very powerful people in positions of great authority in Britain and elsewhere who have staked their reputations and careers on the safety of MMR and they are willing to do almost anything to protect themselves.”
His warning follows reports that the Government is this week planning to announce the addition of a jab against pneumococcal meningitis for babies, probably from next April. It is also considering flu jabs for under-twos - not to protect the children, but adults they may infect.
In the late Seventies, Dr Fletcher served as Chief Scientific Officer at the DoH and Medical Assessor to the Committee on Safety of Medicines, meaning he was responsible for deciding if new vaccines were safe.
He first expressed concerns about MMR in 2001, saying safety trials before the vaccine’s introduction in Britain were inadequate.
Now he says the theoretical fears he raised appear to be becoming reality.
He said the rising tide of autism cases and growing scientific understanding of autism-related bowel disease have convinced him the MMR vaccine may be to blame.
“Clinical and scientific data is steadily accumulating that the live measles virus in MMR can cause brain, gut and immune system damage in a subset of vulnerable children,” he said. “There’s no one conclusive piece of scientific evidence, no ’smoking gun’, because there very rarely is when adverse drug reactions are first suspected. When vaccine damage in very young children is involved, it is harder to prove the links.
“But it is the steady accumulation of evidence, from a number of respected universities, teaching hospitals and laboratories around the world, that matters here. There’s far too much to ignore. Yet government health authorities are, it seems, more than happy to do so.”
‘Why isn’t the Government taking this massive public health problem more seriously?’
Dr Fletcher said he found “this official complacency utterly inexplicable” in the light of an explosive worldwide increase in regressive autism and inflammatory bowel disease in children, which was first linked to the live measles virus in the MMR jab by clinical researcher Dr Andrew Wakefield in 1998.
“When scientists first raised fears of a possible link between mad cow disease and an apparently new, variant form of CJD they had detected in just 20 or 30 patients, everybody panicked and millions of cows were slaughtered,” said Dr Fletcher.
“Yet there has been a tenfold increase in autism and related forms of brain damage over the past 15 years, roughly coinciding with MMR’s introduction, and an extremely worrying increase in childhood inflammatory bowel diseases and immune disorders such as diabetes, and no one in authority will even admit it’s happening, let alone try to investigate the causes.”
He said there was “no way” the tenfold leap in autistic children could be the result of better recognition and definitional changes, as claimed by health authorities.
“It is highly likely that at least part of this increase is a vaccinerelated problem.” he said. “But whatever it is, why isn’t the Government taking this massive public health problem more seriously?”
His outspokenness will infuriate health authorities, who have spent millions of pounds shoring up confidence in MMR since Dr Wakefield’s 1998 statement.
But Dr Fletcher said the Government is undermining public confidence in vaccine safety by refusing to do in-depth clinical research to rule out fears of MMR damage to children.
He added that the risks of brain and gut damage from MMR injections seem to be much higher in children where a brother or sister has diabetes, an immune disorder.
“That is a very strong clinical signal that some children are immunologically at risk from MMR,” he said. “Why is the Government not investigating it further - diverting some of the millions of pounds spent on advertising and PR campaigns to promote MMR uptake into detailed clinical research instead?”
Now retired after a distinguished 40-year career in science and medicine in Britain, Europe and the US, Dr Fletcher said that without such research, health authorities could not possibly rule out fears about MMR.
He said: “It is entirely possible that the immune systems of a small minority simply cannot cope with the challenge of the three live viruses in the MMR jab, and the ever-increasing vaccine load in general.”
He said he had decided to speak out because of his deep concern at the lack of treatment for autistic children with bowel disease, as revealed in The Mail on Sunday two weeks ago.
He called the sudden termination of legal aid to parents of allegedly vaccine-damaged children in late 2003 “a monstrous injustice”. After agreeing to be a witness for the parents, he received thousands of documents relating to the case.
“Now, it seems, unless the parents force the Government to restore legal aid, much of this revealing evidence may never come out,” he said.
The Department of Health said: “MMR remains the best protection against measles, mumps and rubella. It is recognised by the World Health Organisation as having an outstanding safety record and there is a wealth of evidence showing children who receive the MMR vaccine are no more at risk of autism than those who don’t.”

Today was a beautiful day - gorgeous fall day - it was warm enough to be outside without a jacket, the sun was bright and the sky was blue. The bus pulls up and Nicholas is giggling and laughing with another boy he’s sitting in the seat with. I never saw that before, so it automatically put a smile on my face. After letting him rest for a bit, I asked him if he wanted to go for a bike ride - and he enthusiastically said YES! So, outside we went. Usually, Nicholas will go back and forth on the sidewalk for a while and be done and want to move onto something else, but not today. Nicholas starts pedalling up the street and I’m following close behind. The sidewalk is uneven in places, so I of course help him as needed, but he quickly figured out how to do it himself so I didn’t have to help him much at that point. We went around a bend to where you could no longer see our house - and Nicholas said, “we lost our house, we have to go find it” - So I though he wanted to turn around and go back home - nope - he kept going. As he’s riding, he’s pointing out street signs, address numbers, mailboxes, flowers, cars, anything and everything. He stopped at someone’s rose bush wanting to get me a flower. “I love you mommy! You need a flower” He and I talked the whole time. He told me about the stuff he was seeing and before I could realize it, we were down the other end of our street. (Our street is pretty long and wraps around in kind of a U). We past landscapers and Nicholas wanted to stop riding so he could help them. “Mommy, I want to help” - When we got out to the main street, Nicholas wanted to walk for a little while. He held my hand for a bit (the cars fly by) and then sometimes he didn’t, he just walked with me. I had no fear of him running into traffic. He was walking with me chit-chatting the whole time. Then he wanted to get back on his bike and ride more. He’d ride until he got to a cross walk and then would move his bike between the lines and ride across and pull his bike back up on the sidewalk. I no longer had that fear I used to have while walking down that street with him - I had stopped because of it - I just didn’t want to have to drag him back home kicking and screaming from wanting to run in every direction. When we got to our street (we went in a huge circle), he knew he was close to home “my home is this way mommy” - he saw Daddy outside from a distance and started yelling, “daddy, I’m coming… here I come…. daddy, can you hear me? Here I am” When we got home, he wasn’t done riding (and we were gone a while) - so Daddy jumped on his bike and we went down another street which has a culdesac on the end. Nicholas and daddy rode around the culdesac together (like something I’d imagine NT kids doing with their dad’s) - it was so much fun to watch. Then rode up the street and back to our house - and he was so thrilled he got to go for a bike ride.
I’m still in shock by the whole thing - it was such an amazing time. Nicholas fell asleep 2 hours before his bedtime - so he must have been pooped!

I applaud you and respect you for standing up for your rights against mandatory vaccination and would like to thank you for doing so. I appreciate the visibility you are bringing to this issue, because let’s face it - if the doctors and nurses don’t want to be vaccinated by force or otherwise, then you must certainly know something that most people don’t know. If there was no risk associated with the vaccines, you wouldn’t have any issue with getting them - and certainly would not risk losing your jobs in a bad economy. I believe that you understand the risks associated with the vaccines to be willing to stand up and fight to hopefully keep your jobs and not have to subject your body to those risks in order to keep those jobs.

After your battle is over, and I certainly hope you prevail, I ask you not to go back to doing business as usual as if the harm being done to a generation of children is not happening right before your very eyes. I beg you to stand with us and make us stronger - our children and their futures will effect your lives at some point - so please, please stand with us and help make our voices louder.

I do have a few other requests that could make all the difference in a child’s life….

- Please stop lying to parents (even if you don’t know you’re lying) about them not being able to get into school without having all of their vaccinations.
- Please do not belittle parents who are concerned about vaccinating their very young, very small babies who do not yet have developed immune systems as if they are uneducated
- Please do not vaccinate sick babies
- Please stop telling parents to use tylenol before/after vaccination. Tylenol depletes glutathione - please look it up. Please tell the doctors that you work for this as well.
- Please do not mix one vaccine with another and think that this is acceptable. and please do not inject one vaccine into one leg and one vaccine into another leg and think that this is acceptable either. Parents will come back for another visit. Hey, more visits = job security for you.
- Please do not back us into a corner and force us to do something that is the exact opposite of what you would do for yourself or your family
- Please stop using scare tactics and fear mongering when you know you wouldn’t give your own baby that vaccine.
- Please do not act as if you are more educated about vaccines than parents are. In most cases, this simply is not true anymore.
- Please do some research for yourself - the holes in the research will amaze you.

There is much debate about this video in the autism community, which is a shame because it’s not for those in our community, it’s to grab the attention of those not (yet) in our community. I thought this truly knocked it out of the park.

With the new rate of autism announced today, 1 in 91 which is a 65% increase in a two year period of time from 1 in 150 - people who are not yet effected by autism really need to wake up and realize that something very real is happening to a generation of children. Something that cannot be explained by genetics alone - it is impossible to have a genetic epidemic - it is just impossible.

Washington loves to dump its bad news on a Friday afternoon, and today it confirmed that one percent of American children (and by extension, perhaps 1-in-58 boys) - has an autism spectrum disorder.

On a hastily arranged telephone “visit” with US Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius and the autism community, the health chief announced that “the prevalence of autism might be even higher than previously thought.” But, she added, “We don’t know if it has gone up, and we are hoping to unlock these mysteries.”

The Secretary then declared autism “An urgent public health challenge,” declared that President Obama was “right to make it one of our top health priorities,” including research into “treatments and a cure” for the disorder, and promptly ended her visit.

Helping to fill in some of the details was Dr. Thomas R. Insel, Director of the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), and Chair of the Interagency Autism Coordinating Committee, who confirmed that CDC data to be published later this year will estimate the current childhood ASD rate at 100-per-10,000 children.

The data, collected from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s Autism and Developmental Disabilities Monitoring (ADDM) Network, shows a significant uptick in ASD prevalence estimates in just two years.

According to ADDM, the average rate of autism among eight-year-olds across all study sites was 67-per-10,000 in 2000 (the 1992 birth cohort), and 66-per-10,000 in 2002 (the 1994 birth cohort). Only six sites were included in both studies, and their average prevalence rate increased by 10%, from 67-per-10,000 to 74-per-10,000.

Now, CDC has announced that among the 1996 birth cohort, the estimated rate of ASD is 100-per-10,000; a staggering 50% increase over the 1994 birth cohort.

It is easy to understand why the Feds would call autism an “urgent” issue, but any sense of urgency by the officials on the phone was clearly absent, at least from my perspective. In fact, most of the discussion was centered around providing services and education to the growing ranks of Americans with ASD, an entirely laudable goal, to be sure.

But no one expressed any alarm that up to 1 in 58 boys in this country is now on the autism spectrum. The officials on the call seemed to think that wider diagnostic criteria – such as adding Asperger Syndrome and Pervasive Developmental Disorder – Not Otherwise Specified - to the concept of an “autism spectrum disorder” vastly inflated the rate of ASD in the United States.
