So, today I have spent the majority of my day going over Nicholas’s current supplements – checking dosages, reviewing my notes to see what I need to add, what I missed, etc.
I am just reviewing Nicholas’s last set of bloodwork and have dug in a bit deeper to research low plasma homocysteine (which he has). Apparently, homocysteine is the normal intermediate conversion for methionine into cysteine, and thus for production of glutathione, taurine and sulfate. Individuals with low homocysteine have limited capacity for response to oxidative stress and certain kinds of toxic exposure. (Both cases make sense in Nicholas’s case.) The most common treatment for low homocysteine is sulfur-containing amino’s such as methionine, N-acetyl cysteine and taurine. Also glutathione and inorganic sulfate salts as well. Amazingly enough, I have Taurine & N-acetyl cysteine here that I bought to start giving him based on other research. He already gets transdermal Glutathione.

I have a trial of Intestimend and will be trying this one as well.
I’m also going to try Acetyl L-Carnitine.
