Started Oxytocin Nasal Spray

Today is day 2 of the oxytocin nasal spray. He is not a happy camper with me spraying something in his nose (not like I thought he would be happy about it) – but we’ll see if it has any effect on him…..

March 30, 2009 – gave this a good couple of weeks and did not see anything yet. Will restart soon and will give it in the morning and see what effect it has for school.

January 27, 2010 – Nicholas was not the willing participant for me to spray this up his nose so we discontinued this. I did the trial in March 09 and another trial a few months back and he just would not let me get enough up his nose – I understand that you can go up to 8 sprays per day to see if there was a difference – if I could get in 2, that would have been a miracle.

What is the nasal spray for?

I wanted to see if it would help with getting Nicholas to be more social with kids. He’s okay with adults, but still does not pay too much attention to other kids unless they’re one on one. Some people see nothing with it and others say it’s one of the best supplements they’ve tried.
I also wanted to see if it would help him be able to look me in the eye when talking. I have noticed that in despite of his fantastic eye contact, the second he starts speaking, his eyes jump to look elsewhere. I can see he’s really trying to look at me and talk to me at the same time, but there’s apparently something blocking him from being able to do it naturally.
