Nicholas left for school a little while ago. When the bus got here, Daddy was putting on his shoes. Nicholas ran right out the door and across the front lawn to get on the bus. Then turned around and said Bye Mommy!

Round 4 complete!
September 23rd, 2008
Mom We finished round 4 yesterday and Nicholas is doing quite well. Despite the fact that they say oral chelation would kick up yeast, I am not seeing any additional yeast that he didn’t already have.
A few weeks ago, I bought Nicholas this wooden erector-type set from Ikea and he wanted to open it last night. He sat with his Daddy at the dining room table for the longest time while they built the different toys that you could build with this set. A motorcycle, an airplane, a helicopter and a front-end loader. After each one was built, he played with it for a bit and then pointed out the next toy on the instruction booklet for Daddy to put that one together. The patience that he had while Daddy was putting it together was amazing. I don’t think this would have happened a month ago.
Again, we witnessed the same thing this weekend. By Sunday, Nicholas is a different child (last week this lasted until about Wednesday)- he wants us to play with him and he’s seeks out interaction with us and those around us. He asked me 5 times last night to “come and play mommy” 🙂
Last night I got him to string together, “can I have some of your iced tea please mommy?” – he seems eager to learn the words and use them. He doesn’t just give up and forget about what he’s asking for when I make him ask for it like he used to.

Update on Nicholas
September 19th, 2008
Mom Just wanted to post another update on Nicholas before we start Round 4 later today. He is doing amazing! By the time Sunday rolls around and we’re into the current round, the differences in him are completely undeniable. He just wants to have fun and do things with us. He wants to play with us. He talks up a storm. Percy and Thomas talk to each other. He wants us to play Percy to his Thomas and he wants us to make Percy talk to Thomas.
He is practically running out to the school bus every day. And his bright beaming smile is shining when he pulls up to the house. The ladies on the bus are loving him, it is so obvious they just enjoy him so much.
The gate between the dining room and kitchen is finally coming down – he can get right through it quite easily and he’s now listening when we tell him to get out of the kitchen, so it’s coming down!
The past couple of days, Nicholas has not been wanting to drink his supplement mixture. So back to the drawing board I have gone, yet again, to figure out ways to get all of this into him. So, I broke the majority of his stuff down into 2 servings, one for the morning (which I can get into him before he wakes up believe it or not) and the second at night for him to drink while he is in the hbot chamber. So, last night, he was in the chamber with grandma and decided not to drink more than 1/2 of his special juice. So, when he got out, he wanted something to drink. I told him he could have anything he wanted AFTER he was done with his juice. He proceeds to pick up his geotrax catalog and points to a train he wants. I told him that if he drinks his juice, we would go to the store and buy the train. After a few rounds of him saying “go to store and buy train mommy” and me saying, “yes, only after you drink your juice” – he gobbled that juice down so fast my head spun! I am still so blown away that he understood exactly what I was saying and he DID it. (Crap, this is going to be expensive! Off to Toys R Us I go to find that particular train – because Nicholas knows what trains he has and which ones he is missing and there’s no fooling him. So, if you see me on my tour of toy stores today, be sure to say hello! 🙂 )
NJ Dieticians attack Health Freedom
September 19th, 2008
Mom Were you aware that here in New Jersey, dieticians are now seeking a monopoly about nutrition speech? A decade ago, Governor Christy Todd Whitman vetoed the Nutritionist’s certification bill and now they are seeking it again, wishing to forbid anyone but themselves from talking about nutrition.
If you are a New Jersey resident, the time to do something about this is now. Write your legislators and tell them that you do not want this bill to be passed as written and they must delete the newly added exclusionary portion of the Dietician’s Licensing Bill.
Here’s my letter, feel free to use it to send to our legislators:
Senator,
I am writing you today to let you know that I oppose NJ Senate Bill 1941 and Assembly Bill 2933.
Approval of this bill would interfere with our right to our freedom of speech, civil rights, our right of informed choice and it essentially will create a medical monopoly over all nutritional information.
We, as citizens of this state, are entitled to health information and different options, neither which should be excluded through the licensing of dieticians.
I believe in free information and being able to choose for myself. But, I do not believe that in a free country such as ours, health information and options should be excluded through the licensing of dieticians.
Please take action to see that the newly added exclusionary portion of the Dietician’s Licensing Bill is deleted.
This is the portion that excludes all other practitioners from remaining in their natural health businesses. To exclude a group in favor of another is an unconscionable and discriminatory act unbecoming to those governing in a free society. This bill would censor information that is neither understood nor endorsed by the medical establishment. Information should be freely available in a free society. In addition to violating our right to free speech, this bill violates our basic right to make our own personal health decisions and favors the medical establishment in New Jersey. Dieticians have no training or interest in natural and holistic lternatives and wish to be known as “medical nutritionists”. To designate dieticians as nutritionists is both to redefine the common perception of a nutritionist, which is propagating a lie upon the public, and to destroy a vast and growing industry by creating a medical monopoly. These Bills deny the public access to holistic health information, thereby eliminating any possibility of a person to make an informed choice regarding their health and violating the American Medical Association’s dictate of 1999 which says, “Informed consent can be effectively exercised only if the patient possesses enough information to enable an intelligent choice.” Permitting only one side of a story does not lend itself to providing an informed consent. Without the dissemination of natural health information and if natural health dialogue is censored by the passage of this bill, the ancillary businesses that depend on natural health information will decline and eventually vanish. This may be the true intention of this bill. The pharmaceutical and medical industries appear to be using their vast resources and influence to get the legislators of New Jersey to eliminate those seen as competition. The bill proposes to designate registered dieticians as “nutritionists” a designation they did not have before and do not have the training for. It would also deem it illegal for any person who is not a medically trained dietician working inside the medical “box” to address or share information relating to food, diet, nutrition and health including doctors of nutrition and those nationally certified and conventionally trained as nutritionists.
Dieticians do have a right to be licensed if they so choose, so removing the clause from these Bills that criminalizes the people who have been practicing, learning and teaching holistic nutrition would be the logical solution for this dilemma. Allowing nutritional guidance and the dissemination of natural health information by those other than dieticians would give dieticians their license without infringing upon the freedoms of others.
