    High dose Vitamin A Protocol

Taking a weekend off from chelation to do the High Dose Vitamin A Protocol. Nicholas’s measles, mumps and rubella titers were extremely high (yeah, big surprise), so we’re giving this a shot to see if it makes an difference in him.

Today he got 400,000IU Klaire’s Micellized Vitamin A and will get another 400,000IU tomorrow with a daily dose around 25,000IU thereafter.

I’m not starting or stopping anything else so we can truly see if it makes a difference — I certainly hope so.

March 30, 2009 – Well, it didn’t take long to see that this truly made a difference in Nicholas. It did and the higher dose of Vitamin A has been really good for him. He’s more alert, more with us, noticing more things around him that he would have never noticed before. We will repeat this protocol in 6 months and will also be pursuing other anti-virals shortly.

    Round 26: Complete

    Just keeping count

    Increased Enhansa

As of today, we’re up to 600mg of Enhansa. So far, Enhansa has been a god-send for us.

As of March 21, we’re up to 675mg per day split in 3 doses. It’s really keeping yeast in check nicely. We haven’t seen another die-off like we did in the beginning, but it’s clear that it is helping. I’ve been forgetful at giving him his diflucan and haven’t hit a bump because of that yet. I would love to try dropping the diflucan and see how we do.

    Started Oxytocin Nasal Spray

Today is day 2 of the oxytocin nasal spray. He is not a happy camper with me spraying something in his nose (not like I thought he would be happy about it) – but we’ll see if it has any effect on him…..

March 30, 2009 – gave this a good couple of weeks and did not see anything yet. Will restart soon and will give it in the morning and see what effect it has for school.

January 27, 2010 – Nicholas was not the willing participant for me to spray this up his nose so we discontinued this. I did the trial in March 09 and another trial a few months back and he just would not let me get enough up his nose – I understand that you can go up to 8 sprays per day to see if there was a difference – if I could get in 2, that would have been a miracle.

    Recent comments from Nicholas’s teacher

A few notes from his teacher from today:

He is an amazing child doing amazing things!

Nicholas is a joy to have in class, and to see how he has progressed since Sept. is simply amazing.

Nicholas comes in happy, waits patiently with friends to come into the classroom and appears happy throughout the sessions.

I love these statements — especially the 2nd one. With every round of chelation, he gets better and better. I have not shared much of our biomed journey with anyone in his class or his teachers, especially chelation, so the input I get is unsolicited. I have never had the impression that any of the other kids are being treated for thier issues – no special diets, nothing. So sad.

    The Shocking Ingredients in Cigarettes…

This is off-topic, but I was blown away by this so I figured I would share. I am the daughter of a smoker who smoked for many, many years until the price of cigarettes became enough of a reason for my father to quit cold turkey – and we were all very happy that he did.

    The Shocking Ingredients in Cigarettes

For a start, here’s the who’s who of the most toxic ingredients used to make cigarettes tastier, and more quickly, effectively addictive:

    Ammonia: Household cleaner.
    Arsenic: Used in rat poisons.
Benzene: Used in making dyes, synthetic rubber.
Butane: Gas; used in lighter fluid.
    Carbon monoxide: Poisonous gas.
    Cadmium: Used in batteries.
    Cyanide: Lethal poison.
    DDT: A banned insecticide.
Ethyl Furoate: Causes liver damage in animals.
    Lead: Poisonous in high doses.
Formaldehyde: Used to preserve dead specimens.
    Methoprene: Insecticide.
    Maltitol: Sweetener for diabetics.
    Napthalene: Ingredient in mothballs.
Methyl isocyanate: Its accidental release killed 2000 people in Bhopal, India, in 1984.
    Polonium: Cancer-causing radioactive element.

For the whole list of 599 additives used in cigarettes, see the BBC Worldservice page What’s in a Cigarette.

What do you think these things have the ability to do to those of us inhaling these toxins that did not choose to smoke that cigarette? What do you think they have the ability to do to our autistic kids who are already battling toxins they can’t expel?

    March HBOT hours

We started a new round of hbot dives last night.. To date, we have completed approximately 358 hours, although for a while I was not tallying our hours completed, so this was a low estimate – we probably have completed over 400 hours or more.

    March 8, 2009 – 2 hours
    March 9, 2009 – 0 hours
    March 10, 2009 – 2 hours
    March 11, 2009 – 0 hours
    March 12, 2009 – 2 hours
    March 13, 2009 – 2 hours
    March 14, 2009 – 0 hours
    March 15, 2009 – 2 hours
    March 16, 2009 – 2 hours
    March 17, 2009 – 2 hours
    March 18, 2009 – 2 hours
    March 19, 2009 – 1.5 hours
    March 20, 2009 – 2.5 hours
    March 21, 2009 –
    March 22, 2009 – 1 hour
    March 23, 2009 – 2 hours

    Total March Hours: 23 hours
Total Approximate: 381 total hbot hours

    Round 25: Complete

6 months of chelation are under our belt. I hope to run tests soon so we can have some idea of how much we have left to go. But as long as Nicholas keeps dumping metals and improving, we’re pushing ahead.

    Progress Update

Yesterday, Nicholas woke up a different child. It seemed as though he was more with us. His language was more complex. He just seems different again.

Nicholas is one of the politest children I have ever met. Excuse me, please and thank you – and I even have heard excuse me sir (no idea where that one came from) If he needs help, he will say “excuse me mommy” and then ask for what he needs. If he’s upstairs in his room by himself – I hear him say “excuse me mommy. I need help. Is anybody there?”

“Well maybe next time” – was his response to playing a computer game which he was trying to win.

And while we’re on the subject of computer games — Nicholas has blown us away in a very short time on the computer. He can sit for hours navigation web sites with very little to no help from us. He loves nickjr.com and can sit for hours playing, watching videos and stories, etc. He uses both the mouse and the touch pad better than most adults I know. It won’t be long before he has his own computer (not joking) – as he’s always on mine.

This morning, I watched him playing with his Thomas railroad. He was fully engaged in imaginative play. He had the fire/rescue trains in the area in front of him and he told me there was an emergency. (Emergency – never heard that from him before this morning.) When I asked him what the emergency was, he told me there was a fire on the tracks and then proceeds to use the fire hoses from the fire trucks to spray down the tracks and asked me to help him. When daddy came in to see what the emergency was all about, he told daddy that he was washing off the tracks.

He seems to be understanding the shows that he is watching on a higher level. In the past, he hasn’t always got it when something was scary. We watched Space Chimps and certain parts sent him hiding under his train table until I told him the scary part was over and he came back out.

When I ask him if he wants to do something – a new response is “no, it’s boring” – which cracks me up everytime I hear it.

He’s started to initiate taking baths – and will tell me he is going to take a bath and head upstairs to the bathroom. If I am not quick enough, he will be in the bathroom with the water running and will either be totally undressed or will be in the process of undressing.

Putting him to bed has turned into such a fun event. (no sarcasm) He’ll hop up into bed and get under the covers and either myself or daddy will say “good night” to which he responds “good night, sleep tight, dont let the bed bugs bite” — by the time he hits bed bugs bite, he is giggly and he’s tickling you like he’s the bed bugs. So adorable.

    More to come…
