Have I mentioned that Kai-Lan is Nicholas’s girlfriend?  Kai-Lan is a little cartoon Chinese girl, on Ni hao Kailan, who plays with her friends, Tolee, Rintoo and Ho-Ho – and often talks to her Grandpa.  This is a very cute show – and I really enjoy watching it with him (unlike others that I just cannot bear, so we *never* seem to find them on TV, darn!)  Nicholas is learning several mandarin words and phrases and actually uses them when he’s not watching the show.
