…I wanted to believe for so long that this day would come… eventually. That Nicholas and I would sit up in his bed under the covers and read bedtime stories. But that never happened – Nicholas never cared about books. He never cared about being read to. He never sat still long enough to care or to know that if he was just patient that he might actually enjoy hearing a story. Well, tonight, we read three books. Three. Not one, but three. And yes, it’s 1 o’clock in the morning and I just spent over an hour reading a “quick” bedtime story, but really – who cares what time it is!
