Think your SIGG water bottle is BPA-free? Think again.
Think your SIGG water bottle is BPA-free? Think again.
by Savannah MayfieldIf you spent almost $20 on a SIGG water bottle for your child, thinking it is free of toxins, you are going to want to read this article.
Our friends at ZRecs alerted us to an alarming finding. SIGG water bottles (you know those really cute, pricey ones that parents buy when they want to be sure their child is not absorbing toxins in their drink) made before last summer have an epoxy lining that contains the hormone-disrupting chemical bisphenol-A.
If you are wondering which bottle you have, the old one containing BPA or the secretly replaced new one, just visit the ZRecs story for informative photos that will help you identify which bottle your child (or other family member) has been using.
The good news? Take your SIGG water bottle with the old liner to your local New Seasons Store. I just got off the phone with them and they will exchange it for one with the new, safe, BPA-free liner. How much do we love our New Seasons?
PS: Be sure to shop while you are there!
