Yay!

Nicholas is again saying more things we’ve never heard before — and is getting to be quite conversational. We’re not there yet, but I can hold a back and forth with him and actually get real answers. Last night, we went for a ride in the car — he said, “mommy, where are we going?” […]

Round 20: Complete

20 rounds down…… Time has flown by. Nicholas just gets better and better and better. This, by far, has been the most rewarding biomedical intervention yet. (and the cheapest!) – When we first started biomed, the gains were slow in coming. If I compared his progress of today versus when we first started – it […]

Change is in the air…

Nicholas was sick last week, but was much better so we went ahead and chelated this weekend. I cannot believe the language coming out of him — the complete (and correct!) sentences are flooring us. We’re in the middle of round 20. Earlier today, his grandmother went upstairs to get a toy for him – […]

The cold bug bit Nicholas

Ug! Nicholas started getting a cold yesterday right along with the rest of us. Poor thing keeps telling us his tongue hurts when really trying to tell us he has a sore throat. He keeps wanting band-aids for it.

Skipping chelation this weekend

Just taking a break…. I need some sleep! 🙂

Round 19: Complete

Just keeping count.

Nicholas got dressed….by himself

So, when Nicholas got up this morning he was all wet, so I stripped him down and changed his diaper and came downstairs to throw his sheets and stuff in the wash. 5 minutes later, Nicholas comes downstairs FULLY DRESSED!!!! in a matching outfit that was hanging in his closet!

Current Progress

This past weekend, we saw another set of changes in Nicholas – they seemed to all happen practically overnight. – He’s now into watching Toot & Puddle and when he asks to watch it – he sings it like the intro to the show. – He woke me up this morning by knocking on his […]

Round 18: Complete & Dosage Increased

Round 18 completed! I increased the dose of both ALA and DMSA this round. Our new dosages are as follows: DMSA: 16.7.mg ALA: 8.33mg Nicholas seemed to tolerate the higher dose just fine. (It wasn’t much of a jump, but it was still an increase over what we have been giving him.)
